Him or Seabrook
I would move Burrows at TDL and have 21 mil in space for next year.
Sign Tanev long term - VANTEL
Bang on and it has to be Seabrook...Sharp is on a bit of a downturn and injury prone.
Like you said in your other post Saad with Bonino would be outstanding.
Higgins and Burrows I thought might cut it on the 2nd line at the beginning of the year but it just aint panning out and I like Higgins. Burrows can go anytime.

as much as I love Sharp, he's become very injury prone (given his rambunctious style of play, it's not a surprise - especially his intense and all out efforts/attitude in the play-offs and big games where he's played with numerous injuries before)
I'd love to have him for a play-off run, however. I think he's still got that much in the tank - Zogg
I don't like 6 mil for two more years |

Off to a blazing 5-0 lead in our pool. Maybe I'll get my first win of the season!!!

Are you trying to rape the trade rapist?
Scooby will hate that offer and I don't blame him |

I'll be disappointed if I win. I want to lose every week.
That would have to be some sort of record. One which I would be very proud of. |

That would make sense if you kept your first. McDavid was the one guy that could've really helped your rebuild. - Nucker101
I know, huge mistake. I've been asking around if anyone would entertain making a deal for a first.
No one has budged. |

I know you probably don't want my advice, but if I were you I'd put up Marleau and Hossa up for bid(separate deals, and not at the same time) sometime soon where the best deals win(only for younger players, no one 30+). Maybe even see if you can trade one back for your own first, if not then target other firsts round picks that have the potential to be top 3 picks, I wouldn't pay too much for picks outside of the top 3 or so, guys who don't make the NHL right away sometimes don't play regularly for another 2 years. You can buy them lower later next year if you really want one. Unless you really think the top 10 guys next year are gonna be NHL-ready.
I'd also be scouting the waiver wire or cheaply through trade for any young players currently in junior/AHL that have a chance to become nice young NHL players next year. So then next year you can keep them or flip them(your choice).
It's just that guys like Marleau, Hossa, Glencross, Hudler, Ribeiro, Versteeg as your core up front aren't gonna get you into the playoffs, and they're only gonna lose value next year as they get another year older. They have more value to the playoff contenders in this league than they do for you, and it's vice-versa with young guys. They hold more value to you then they do for contenders so there's deals to be made for you.
Just my two cents. |
