the sooner they move coburn the better. he needs to go asap.
- rinaldo

I think coburn is being asked to do to much.....he's a good # 3-4 guy ..... On a good team he can be a valuable asset...unfortunately the Flyers are not a good team...

And that's been the same story for a number of years now. I make him available at the deadline. He'd pretty easily be in top 3 D men available I think.

Rinaldo is a waste of time. He's not a player on a winning roster. Pretty simple. A -9 playing limited 4th line minutes, lack of discipline, not a lick of skill. Complete waste.
- PLindbergh31

Probably one of the few players who actually comes to play every night. Plays hard no matter the score.

Yes he isn't as skilled as you would like. But your bringingh up a payer that at least he shows gives a damn.

Of the problems withs this team Rinaldo is way down. I would prefer to look at guys like:

Read
Coburn
Couturier
L.Schenn
Vinny
Umberger
MacDonald

I would prefer to fix those things before worrying about Rinaldo

Both guys have been putrid of late (for much of the year)...but they both still get the minutes....those two on the PP is awful....but what are Berube's options??? I asked a few weeks back for Bill's opinion on Couturier to see if his drop in play had the Flyers concerned.....I think everyone assumed that their play would get better, things would level off...they haven't things have gotten worse..... I do wonder why Berube hasn't separated them????? I understand why they are in the line up.....but there play has gone beyond stale....
- landros 2

There are many things Berube does that we question. I guess he can only coach the guys that he has been given and unfortunately these guys just are not that good.
I would be looking to trade Read and it be will very interesting to see how Couturier finishes season. We will get a better understanding of what he is.. IMO

Couturier is not a problem. He has titanic sized anchors on his line. Read is the biggest disappointment in the lineup and Umbergers play speaks for itself. Couturier is not going to be a player to carry a line. G wouldnt even look much better with those two corpses.

Read is not doing any of the things that made him such an impressive player two years ago, none of them.

Would people be okay with the following at the deadline?

Coburn for 1st and B level prospect
Read for a 2nd and 3rd
Rinaldo for 3rd

- hereticpride

If Rinaldo can get them a 3rd... Hexy gets forgiven for the Hartnell trade.

But yeah, sell baby sell.

I mean problems in getting things right. As much as he struggled I still see no reason to move Couturier.

Now the others I can come up with reasons to trade because I think we can get assets back

In the event we're drafting top 10 but not top 2 I'm looking to upgrade Coots to Eichel.

Any player that isn't part of the solution, is part of the problem. All the guys listed above haven't played well. I'm giving Couturier a pass. He's only just turned 21 years old. He's been given a ton of defensive responsibility at such a young age, not to mention he's usually been saddled with stiffs on his wing.

No one will be trading a top 2 pick this year. You don't want to be the GM who missed on the supposed talent and franchise changing skills the top two are supposed to have this year.

I am not talking about the mid 90's Avs. i am talking about the 2015 draft and the two players that are supposed to be franchise cornerstones.

There is only ONE CORPSE and that is RJ.
I would really look at moving Read. We are not going anywhere this year.
So far Couturier has shown that he is nothing more than a 3rd line Centre

I wholeheartedly agree regarding Read. If you can get out of that contract now you do it. He plays the entire year like this and no one is touching him.

I have to believe Read is injured. I don't understand what's going on there. If they want to trade him that's fine.

Everyone seems to get caught up with the fact that Rinaldo give a 110% every shift. I agree with this and its admirable. But the fact is, he sucks at playing hockey at the NHL level. His only possible skills that could help the team would be throwing a big hit and drawing penalties.

More often than not he gets himself out of position in trying to throw a big hit leading to a scoring chance. Net Negative.

He also hasn't drawn more penalties than he's taken since the lockout shortened season. He has been taking much more than he draws leading to another net negative.

Bottom line, right now he's useless. As much as I hate Vinny, he has more of a used for this team as a 4th liner and PP specialist.

I am glad you pick reason 37 of things wrong with this team.

Rinaldo is really low compared to some of the problems following this team.

- J35Bacher

But he is a problem, especially with the PK going in the tank.

10 minors in 220 minutes. Zero goals, 1 assist, -9.

His ozone penalty cost them a goal... as bad as they played for 40 mins, that represented the margin of victory last night.

He's made a ton of errors that are clearly mental as well( forcing passes, flubbing passes, poor positioning). I am at a total loss for how he is still playing like this after 25 games.
