They may have lost, but what a pass by Giroux on the PP. That's a saucer pass at full speed that has to drop exactly where Schenn's stick was going to be as he's moving forward. |

theyre gonna have to part ways with some of the mancrushes they have on this roster... this team is overloaded with centers and 3-4 defensemen... get to work hextall... and everyone who is skeered to do so needs to go buy a dog |

I am concerned about the coach, continuing to play Umberger game after game and even rewarding him with powerplay time here and there is a disgrace. Another zero shot night last night to go with the listless play. Throw in the regression of almost all of the younger players and the fairly safe assumption he helped force Hartnell out of town and I am more than ready to make a coaching change. - MFC
they need to fire chief and get a real coach, we shouldve learned with wayne cashman that our buddies dont always make good coaches. |

I was thinking about the coaching yesterday.
Moving players is going to be difficult for a while. While I never considered this roster a playoff team for this year, they should have a better record than they do and two wins in the last 13 games is inexcusable.
I think it's time to find a coach who can work with the current roster. |

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Flyers Conclude So-So Road Trip with OT Loss - bmeltzer
I would sit Nick Shultz next. I'd also sit one of Umberger or Read, more then likely Umberger but the Flyers cannot fear sitting Read when it's called for. They also shouldn't fear trading him if the right deal comes along. I wouldn't say it's outside the realm of possibility that if he looks like this now, he could look like Umberger in four years from now.
Also, keep in mind that if players come out, others go in. I can live with Lecavalier playing wing with Read and Couturier for a game or two in Umberger's place. Luke Schenn has both his good and bad games but I do believe as a young guy that he should play.

Now, though? They will have gone through two coaches in less than 115 games, including playoffs |

I think not changing coaches now is a strong signal that they've thrown in the towel on the season. |

considering that one of the interim candidates got us to the finals and past the first round the other years, id have to disagree... besideshe had average to mediocre goaltending whenhe did so as well. |

I look at some of the regression and want to agree, but then I look at the roster and feel like giving any coach the shiv with so much money tied up in players who can't perform at that level...it's a tough business, and wins and losses matter. But it is hard for me to see how anyone could have gotten more out of the train wrecks that are VLC and Umberger, and the defense is just jacked when Coburn and MacDonald try to play hard minutes for extended stretches
I won't be surprised if Berube gets the hook, but I don't know that anyone wins big with this current roster, though they should be playing a little better |
