I'm amazed the players left off by Canada.

Two potential top 5-6 picks a stud goalie and Ho-Sang.

Subban doesn't surprise me as much as the others.

I wonder if they don't like big personalities during a short tourney

- sbroads24

I think Ho-Sang being off the team helps, he's not worth the headache, not at this tourney on this stage.

The argument i've heard in favour of the other decisions is that they don't fit the style that the head coach wants to implement.

I can understand that much, but the goalie omission is just too much for me. I would love to know the reasoning behind that.

Part of me wants to believe that someone on the leafs dared him to say that. The other parts are laughing really hard though.

Yeah, the fact that he apologized makes me think it was on purpose. It's still hilarious though.

Sad, the Oilers have all that talent and they are in last place in the league, that's how we are going to get screwed.

No way it was on purpose. A young athlete that made it to the pros following a route that does not emphasis education. He had no idea what he was talking about.

Edit: The Elephant in the Room that people don't talk about is what NHL player lack. But they're white, so...

Double Edit: Did I just go there?

proof that tanking alone will not guarantee success, just a better chance to have it

He is the equivalent of a Kassian, Hodgson, Stafford, etc...

Not worth anything.

Howard show onWGR today talked about rumor of Myers to Philly for Couterier.
I wanted him on his draft class...not so sure that is enough value for Muers now though...seems his ceiling is lower than was projected back 3 years ago. Plus we will then have 8 million Centres...and nobody to score up front.
We need scoring wingers who are NHL ready for any trade involving a D-man off this roster or Roch's

Sorry but incorrect IMO, Kassian is playing well with the Nuks and Eberle is a goal scorer. If you have a chance to get Eberle you take it. Hodgson stinks as does Stafford.

IMO, the Oilers tank for McDavid and then at the deadline they move Eberle for a big return and add to what they have along with McDavid.

just a little insight on our AHL team from last night (from Utica and went to the game vs. the Comets)

1. Brady Austin is turning into a nice player and really stood out to me throughout the entire game. Was good in his own zone and even plays PP minutes. Solid addition.

2. Grigorenko is trying to do a lot with guys that can not receive a pass...and I am serious with that. He had two NHL worthy passes tape to tape right in front of the net, but the player (slips my mind who) could not hit the broad side of the barn let alone a net.

3. McCabe and Chad R are a very nice pairing on defense...puck comes in the zone and within seconds it is out and going the other way.

4. Lastly, the team as a whole looks disinterested and lost. Either their not as receptive to the coach's teachings. or the skid is really getting to them. Matt Ellis and other veterans need to take over that locker room and teach these kids how to play a full three periods.

Thanks for listening.

Stafford is growing on me a bit. I just looked him up and despite Buffalo's horrible offensive game last year, and his bad performance in the shortened season, he still ranks 122 out of all players in points over the last 6 years. Not too shabby IMO, especially when the team improves and can put up some decent offensive numbers again.

For some perspective, he has similar numbers to: ROR, Umberger, E Kane, Van Riemsdyk

Stafford is horrible, always has and always will be. He has no business still being on this team.

That scrub Reinhart couldn't even continue his point streak to 15...finishing with 0 points and -2 in Tuesday's loss.

Meh...he's got more points over that time than Jordan Staal and plays all 3 phases of the game. There's no way he should be a 1st liner on any team in the NHL like he basically has been with Buffalo, but as a 2nd liner he's fine
