I agree....for the most part.

I do enjoy going to a game here or there. Something to do when the weather is nice. But you will never catch me watching it on TV.

Maaaybe il watch the world series but even that is a stretch for me. From an outside perspective it just seems like the sport revolves around money and rediculous contracts and the only teams that win are the ones with the most money to throw around.

Meh...he's got more points over that time than Jordan Staal and plays all 3 phases of the game. There's no way he should be a 1st liner on any team in the NHL like he basically has been with Buffalo, but as a 2nd liner he's fine
- stashu

I know this is a bit late, but Stafford would be fine for a 3rd liner. No way I let his attitude get near the top 6 guys. In fact, I'd trade him for a bucket of salty water.
He may have picked his play up, but I just can't trust him. He is a player that truly needs a change of scenery...if he pops, great for him.
As a 3rd liner, $2M - $2.5M would be my offer.
When he walks, I'm cool.

I enjoy listening to a ball game when I am working or driving

I have a hard time watching it on tv, other then background noise

Love going to the games

for some reason I do not think it translates well to tv for me

he is exactly one of the reasons why this team has not won a playoff series in 7 plus years

I do enjoy going to a few Bisons games a year but I think that is mainly because they have $2 beer nights

Let's play the trade game. And let's say Carolina decides to trade Skinner (and Staal) for rebuilding parts. What can Buffalo offer for Skinner? He has good value, but he hasn't produced a lot this year and he's quite injury prone. He fits the mold for this team and can play any forward position. He's a sniper, who would go great with elite playmakers like McD-man or Reinhart (not saying Reinhart is remotely better than McDavid).

If I'm making this trade this year, I use both first round picks that aren't Buffalo's, Pysyk/McCabe and Stafford.

If I'm making this trade next year, I use Buffalo's 1st, Pysyk/McCabe and a pair of 2nds.

Worth it?

PNC Park in Pittsburgh is really nice. Tickets are reasonably priced and it's not a terrible drive from Buffalo.

Using either of them in a trade is a bit scary unless you're getting a better Defenseman back. There's nothing worth anything in the pipe behind them, so you're really cutting out the small bit of depth you have at the position.

Wouldnt mind checking that out. I have heard that it is cool there. I have never been to Pitt so maybe it could be an excuse to check it out.

Very good chance his salary goes down from his current 4M per season, so I'm fine if he get re-signed.

2 first AND 2 roster players (one being a good young d-man) for Skinner? No thanks, he misses too much time. The kid is good, but he never seems to be healthy.

Hot humid summer afternoon - nothing better than a few sweaty cold ones, a bag of peanuts to keep your hands busy, and a ballgame going down in front of you.

It's not a TV game. That's why the height of its popularity was the radio/newspaper era.

If there is not upgrade brought into the sabres lineup once the deadline passes (young players with upside) then I would not be surprised if they are going to tank one more season

I'm not trading both of those D-men. I think McCabe is going to be a really solid D in the future, a very nice 3/4 guy. Him with Myers would be a terrific pairing...and love his leadership. Pysyk though, I'm beginning to wonder about. I'm hoping he's down in Roch because we are tanking and Mezaros and Benoit are taking his spot for that purpose. If not, what's going on with him.
Skinner would be a good add though and they can have Staff, Stewie and one of the later 2015 1sts

yup

I have no problem putting a jays game on the radio while working in the fish room, or hanging out in st pete on a weekend watching the rays/jays

I think it's been over 10 years since I watched a ball game start to finish on tv

I think that is where the extra scouting staff they added in Europe can really pay off
