So it's tanking to make smart long term moves for your team. Tanking, to me, is willfully trying to lose. Like what Darcy was doing last year. Rr at coach, having 5 guys on your roster who are no longer in the NHL, trading off all your good players.

The only thing different this year is that the young guys are growing and getting better. I wonder what the team will look like if they loan zadorov to Russia and Ristolainen gets injured.

Di'agostini, mcbain, Sulzer, konopka, Tallender, Scott that screams tanking.

Odds are probably a lot higher but they could wind up moving someone else like mccabe or zadorov.

We're not tanking. What Darcy did was tanking. Had Ron rolston as head coach. Gave him a lineup of a clearly not ready grigorenko, konopka, Sulzer, mcbain, Tallender, Scott, di'agostini. Traded off all our good players. All for the top pick.

Trading off, and not actively trying to improve are not all that different. The only reason Murray hasn't traded off all our good players is because they are part of our future. Darcy was trading of good players we were trying to get rid of.

If the goal was playoffs, he'd make big moves (and no a 2nd rounder for gorges doesn't count) and he probably would have fired Nolan after the first 15 games. guys like Strachan, Weber, Meszaros, Kaleta, Benoit are fringe nhlers just like the names you mentioned above.

Actually i was, Hockeysfuture had him as an 8 out 10 prospect, thought he'd be low risk high reward. Also Paul Hamilton hated him which made me like him even more

absolutely. i get the feeling murray likes ristolainen and zadarov. i shudder to think what else he will have to add to get a young ppg forward if we take hanifin. probably better off keeping myers and drafting strome- assuming we at least draft 3rd.

if they do not get #1 or #2 overall I think they need to "tank" again for the 2015-16 season and open the flood gates for 16-17

but to do that, you better be certain of your back end, goalies and top 2 centers
