Stewart for Morin. - mhp
Meh, Just does not do a lot for me. I want guys who are established. Perron at 26 could be a key.
We could add to the trade and give up a mid-level prospect with it.
Edmonton is looking for a Stewart like player so who knows.
Who knows what value Stewart has though? |

Fenwick and Corsi does not measure heart - homiedclown
It can also measure a goalie standing on his head and as the team gets dominated on possession while playing an outdated style of hockey and soccer. |

As a ref, you know full well that we can't afford another Isles-sabres trade - Sabresfan-365
I'm always over there yanking their chain. Reality is they don't have any picks to give up. Though I think they have Philly's 2nd?? hmmmmm |

His value has to be pretty low atm, that's why a Stewart for Morin trade makes some sense. Both guys need a change. |

True, been to the edm boards? Imagine making a big trade with them. You'd have your work cut out for you. |

If we get either mcdavid or eichel, are we in a spot that we can offer sheet an rfa and give up 3 or 4 first rounders? Tarasenko, Yakapov, Toffoli, Reilly Smith, Etam, Atkinson, Silvferberg, Connolly are all RFAs. With our pipeline, it may be the perfect time for an offer sheet, especially with a lot of teams that will be close to the cap that may have trouble signing these guys. |

Tarasenko is the only one of that group worth giving up multiple first rounders for. Also its never going to happen |

Murray is a GM in the league for less than 5 years and this would poison his ability to do deals for another 5 years. |

Doesn't seem like Murray's style but who knows. Giving up 4 1sts is very risky though. Those 1sts could be assets down the road and it probably doesn't help your rep if you start offer sheeting players like the oilers did a while back. |

Just checked the numbers again and realized that an offer sheet for $5m is only a 1st and a 3rd pick. $6.5m is a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd. |

Yeah, I think that's why the Oilers had to move Kevin Lowe out of the GM spot, although he still has some executive title in that Tire-Fire of management. I think he had some feuds with LA GM Dean Lombardi as well.
I think the Flames offer sheeted Ryan O'Reilly which inflated his salary and caused a lot of angst between him and the AVs. It basically doesn't pay to offer sheet anyone.
I think that was Jay Feaster...who I think also got canned.
Woulda been interesting if we had taken those four picks from the Oilers for Vanek, though. |

The other side, is that there is no guarantee that they would have had the first overall with Vanek. |
