They won't tank, it's not going to happen. Murray needs to put his stamp on this team, the "rebuild" has started. Nolan won't let them tank and he shouldn't, Sabres are in a tough spot.

People need to understand that "tanking" has NOTHING to do with the players or the coach WANTING to lose.

The players arent being told go out there and suck. Dont give effort. The coach isnt being told lose any and all games.

The tank is in the fact that Murray has assembled a team that doesnt have the talent to win more than lose in an 82 game season. Yes hard work will win you some games. A lot of this winning streak has been pure luck. Bounces off the stanchion. Enroth making game saving saves with his back even though he has no idea where the puck is. A lot of it has been other teams taking us lightly. LA didnt really wake up until after Ennis scored. Teams are going to be taking us more seriously now that we are stealing "easy" points, and hard work wont be enough to pull out victories.

I'll point to both Tampa games here. We took it to them in BUF, pulled out a SO win. They dominated possession game. What happened when we went back to Tampa. They got serious.

The tank is all about fielding a team, where the players work hard and compete, but its not enough to win more than lose. We can point to this "winning streak" all we want. I'll point to starting the year 3-13-2.

Watch Murray loan Zadarov to the WJC. Pure tank move.

People hoping for the 1st or 2nd pick is a mistake?

This team is actually worse than last year.

Let's hope that this is a leading indicator of the final outcome.
Goaltending needs a quick regression to their norm.
Offensive is doing their part:

No, not as much. I'm sure most didn't think the Oilers and the Canes would be bad, the Sabres were suppose to be the worst.

My season prediction is becoming frighteningly real. Finishing 26th. The 2 pieces of good news are the lottery odds are better this year In that range and our posession #'s are still awful.

I agree, Players and Coach shouldn't and won't.
GM must and better...else, this season is a complete and utter waste.
IF this is the start of the rebuild, then GMTM has failed us by not making more moves to steer the ship. Right now, everything they have achieved (like being 28th is some sort of accomplishment) is for naught. No more middling. Either bust and get a top 2 pick. Idf this is the start then we should have pulled the stops and jettisoned guys like Staff, Stewie, Benoit, Mazaros, Hodgson, etc. Already or close to it.
TM is smarter that that.
Tank on!.

Murray is open to trading. He needs a dance partner. Unfortunately other GMs are standing still.

The only thing im slightly disappointed in is Murray not making a minor league deal to right whats going wrong in Rochester.

S$$T or get off the pot, the rebuild is on Murray needs to start getting this team in position now, they don't need to wait 2 more years and take it slow it's been long enough under Darcy with waiting around. Let's see if he has any B$$$L, anyone could and would move Miller and Ott at that time it's what he does from here on out that matters.

I didn't forget anything, people are hung up to much on the 1st or 2nd pick and IMO it's a mistake.

I can't see the Sens parting with two of their prospects for Stewart, especially when they're out of the playoff hunt.

Wrong. Come on now, you're smarter than that.
One word.
McEichel.

YOU know, Generational Talent.
You don't trade for it, you have to suffer through to get it.
Tell me how Ted, Terry and Tim are going to sell three seasons of Sh!ting the bed and coming away with the 25th pick?

I've seen mocks where Connor is slotted 10-15. Ahl sounds like an intriguing prospect. What about Daniel Sprong or Paul Bittner with the Isles and Blues picks? They could also trade one of those picks but not both imo.

Let's stop worrying about whether we get McEichel or not, 54 games to go in the season. Lots of time for us to tankarenko.

Id keep an eye on Jeremy Brocco with the NTDP. His size will make him fall. Hopefully can grab him around the Isles or Blues pick.

The Sabres need a bonafide stud to build a team around. The best place to that is at the top of the draft. Going for the top pick in the draft is the absolute right play. It's far from a guarantee but 100% worth the risk.

I regret to inform you that I will be leaving the hockeybuzz community for quite some time. I realize I do not post here too often due to my schedule but I thought i would give this information so no one is guessing my whereabouts. You can expect me back some time in September of 2016. In my absence, I wish the best of health to all. Going to miss watching my team play. Go Sabres!!!!

I think Bracco played well in the prospects game, if I recall reading something about him. He's a bit too small for my tastes but you are right, he could slip a bit later in the 1st rd.

Can't wait till people finally get a chance to watch kylington at the world juniors. There was a time last year where i wanted us to take him over Hanifin and eichel. (mind you i hadn't seen either of those guys play beyond 1 world junior game)

That being said, I still see them as a 1-2 pick at the draft. There was a time where we were so far ahead nothing mattered anymore. With so many games left i bet we'll hit last, go up and then hit rock bottom again before seasons end. The "race" at the bottom is just as interesting this year as the one for 8th.

It sure seems that way. Bracco, Greenway, Werenski, Hanifin and White are all potential first rounders going through the USA U18 program.
