My therapist has me embracing the trigger words hence why I am able to mention Torterella by name. It seems to be working, I don't lash out at puppies or pinch babies nearly as much. - Marwood
I asked my therapist about that and she told me that I need to take baby steps. Then she said it is a "PROCESS". I now have a restraining order and have to find another therapist. |

You don't need a therapist, just read "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". Everything will make sense and you will be given the coping mechanisms. |

He said he picked him(highest ranked center available) just to give him easy minutes and then flip him. - Nucker101
he could have done a better job with the flipping part.... still got a better player, but i think he really could have gotten more.

That is why MG should be GM in Edmonton. Not afraid to lose a trade. |

Yeah, the guys on his target list were Kassian, Clifford(LA thankfully said no), Carlson(Caps said no ), and a few others that I can't remember.
Not sure if Turris was on it, I remember his name was thrown around before OTT got him. |

Mac T hasn't shown me that he's any better. I think Oilers fans are starting to realize that Mac T/Eakins are a big part of the problem. There's a few still saying "Mac T is in tough spot so it's hard to trade" but IMO he's the one who put himself in that position going into the season with RNH-Arcobello-Gordon-Draisaitl as his centers. He also hired Eakins as well. |

Thank God we didn't draft Kyle Beach, like Delorme wanted to, or we'd have zero to show for that 1st round....(frank) me.

I remember quite a few of the #TRUCULENCE and #GoodOleBCBoyz crew were pissed when they passed on Beach.
Has it actually been thrown out there that Delorme preferred him over Hodgson? |

probably the same guys that took Brad Ference at #10 instead of Marian "frank'n" Hossa at #12 in 1997 |

I'm a big draft guy having played Major Junior, thus I watch it as much as I can, Josh Bailey was the guy I wanted. He was big enough, he had great wheels and offensive upside, until the Islanders in all their wisdom killed his development by keeping him up as an 18 year old. |

Yes absoutely, Gillis overruled everyone and took Cody the legend Hodgson.
"Consider 2008, when Mike Gillis vetoed the recommendation of Delorme and the scouting staff to draft Kyle Beach, selecting Cody Hodgson instead. Picks in later rounds are more dependent on scouts, but everyone has seen and studied the players who will get picked at the top of the draft and the General Manager has the final say."

I agree about not having a second line centre ready to play in camp is a huge blunder. Why they ignored filling that and going into camp to see who was the best fit really turned out to be any warm body will do. just nuts.
They have some young prospects, they have picks.... they couldn't have found anyone better than Arcobello or throwing Draisaitl to the wolves? They couldn't have kept Tambo as GM and had the same lineup? They couldn't find a free agent that was a better option?
I am not sure how much back office gm or related experience Mac T has, but just that - not acquiring someone for that spot comes across as totally amateur. They really have to stop living in the past.... they need a Torts reality check! |

Seriously though, whatever helps your team... if you are heavy in skill and lacking some of the meat and potatoes or truculence don't you trade for the need to make your club better? (thinking this more for Edm than Van)
sorry for the outburst, back to hb. |

Literal translation is "wolfpack hunter" - lumlums
