•Nichols on Hockey: Bob McKenzie on TSN 1050 on the Ducks
“After the Perry injury, of course, they’re going to miss a scoring winger like that. But boy oh boy, they’ve got a lot of depth on that team. You really sense that Bob Murray and the Ducks feel like the window is now for them. And they recognize that in order to get to the Stanley Cup Final, the road might run through Los Angeles – but the Kings aren’t as dominant now as they have been in the past.
“I think Anaheim’s got a bucketful of young prospects and they’re probably not finished dealing yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if they continue to go down the road where maybe they give up some younger assets for more experienced players between now and the deadline and really take a run at the Cup this year.”
This is a team where you can use Coburn and Read and extract a solid return. Get a 1st rounder and prospects. Anaheim has some good prospects. Nick Ritchie, Shea Theodore, William Karlsson, Emerson Etem, Nick Sorenson
This would be the type of trade that can bring back value. Anaheim isn't looking to just make the playoffs. They are looking to wn the cup so would be willing to lose prospects if it brought them more playoff depth |

Marc... dunno man, I think you've completely lost it. They're 2-8 in their last ten. They've scored 6 goals in their last three home games.
I'd love to see them turn this season into a silk purse but I think all we're getting is pig ear.
And for all the talk about moving their first overall for whomever, if they do that I'll become a Devils fan. - mayorofangrytown
I know it's crazy how bad they've been, and me still expecting wins.
But I really see them splitting the next 4 at worst and winning 3 is possible.
Would you trade the 1st for OEL or Pietrangelo?
I think if they took VLC back in addition I would do it.
Not for TyMy though.

You would have thought we'd all have learned by now about trading picks...
Still, a Devils fan? That's just taking it too far. You're outta control, man. |

The only thing that will get Hextall's attention is something that involves a huge relief on the cap. Murray might do LeCavalier, Umberger and the #1 (2015) for Myers. But, I don't think Hextall does the deal. - spatso
Hextall would say yes to that deal so fast it would make your head spin. Are you serious? Murray however would probably keel over so hard for laughter, that he would have to be rushed to the ER. |

I'm with you. If they trade a lottery pick, my poor little heart won't be able to take anymore, even if it means no more Lecumberger. |

I watched the Ducks last night. That Ricard Rakell guy was very impressive too.
And their 3 younger defenseman, love those guys. For young guys they have a lot of poise.
Maybe we will be saying this about the Flyers young D in the next 3 years!

Giving up drafting a potential superstar (who would be playing on an ELC), to get rid of a couple of contracts you could just buy out, and the chance to add another ruined, head case dman? Sounds like a real winner to me, lol. |

the symbology runs deep here
for instance, the wine represents class inequality or something
the mustache represents being a d-bag |

That would be my plan.
Hope a team that really thinks they can win the cup this year comes calling for defensive depth and maybe some forward depth. Then make the right deals. |
