Well you expect the Flyers to win..... - GOA88
Have you seen the Debbies roster? Half of those jabronies belong in the ahl. The flyers are going to crush them. |

Oh yea? What do you think he's worth? Hmmm?? - GOA88
Top pair defenseman who can compliment any number one, I'd say more then that. |

Look at previous market trades.
Douglas Murray got 2 2nd rounders last year.
Kabina got 2nd and 3rd rounder
If the Flyers wait until the deadline they can possibly get a 1st rounder for Coburn depending on teams and needs for the playoffs. - J35Bacher
I agree with you... I dont think Coburn, Read and especially Amac have any real trade value. They have all sucked. |

I'm seeing a whole lot of thing by both the Coach and GM. Great job at the draft by Hextall but anything else is questionable. You still have struggling players at decent ages that you could use to shake the balance of the team. As for Berube, ever decision made and word spoken sounds like BS. - SuperSchennBros
I think if you see things with a long-term state of mind, all the nothing makes total and complete sense at this point. What's the point in wheeling and dealing right now to make the team ok for this year? Unless they can get help for cheap, the only moves I want them to make should be to get picks and prospects/young players for the future. |

I think you value him too much. Just my opinion. Id say he is a compliment to the 2nd pair on a good team. |

MJL 2.0 - Fast_Eddie_1
Is this suppose to be an insult? First of all, not even clever and second, people dislike MJL because 95% of the time, he's right. So thanks. |

I'm sorry, I'm without a Crystal ball but I'm also aware of this "plan" but that's all it is. It may or may not workout, just like the Hartnell/Umberger deal. |

Why does he have to wait until the deadline to get max value? what is the max value on an Andrew MacDonald, Braydon Coburn or Matt Read? Please explain in detail. - SuperSchennBros
I think AMac reached his max value last year and the Flyers rewarded him with a long term deal, which was ill advised since the sample size was pretty small. Coburn is still a good dman regardless of his current struggles and, given Read's slump and age, he's more value to keep than move. I think people are way too hard on Read also but

Seriously though. What would it take to pry a Weber or Pietrangelo type D-man away. In your opinion. - GOA88
I don't think you can get Weber, as Nashville has invested so much in him financially and PR-wise. But, in a vacuum, you're probably talking:
One of Couturier or B. Schenn
One of Voracek or Simmonds
2015 1st
2016 1st
One of Morin/Ghost/Sanheim
Something along those lines. When you're talking a proven, elite defenseman, you're talking the most valued commodity in the league (outside of possible HOFers like Stamkos/Crosby). Now, some (Weber/Pietrangelo/SUbban) will cost more than others (McDonagh), but for the top-end of the elite, that's likely the package. |

Coburn will be worth a late 1st at the deadline your right. Flyers should wait |

I know it may or may not work but we know right now that whatever it is going on now isn't working and fixing it will take more than a few band aids. Unfortunately, the process for this team to become a contender may take a few years but the alternative is a middle of the pack team that we've seen the last few years. |

You are right..only deals should be for picks or prospects that will help moving forward.

Yes he is still ok but I think this team is still about 2 years away. Also with read he is 29 so if i can get a more offensive winger and younger I am ok moving him. I think we have some good two way players coming like Leirer . Also if you make good trades and good draft picks you can really take a good step moving forward. |

I would at least become proactive and offer Read for Oshie. The Blues save money on that deal. |

Right now teams know the Flyers are desperate to make a move. Also there is still time for other things to happen and playoff spots aren't confirmed yet.
Once the TDL comes close teams have a better understanding on what they need to make a run and teams might be more desperate if they see another team made a move that they will have to compete with.
Maybe Coburn gets a 2nd and 3rd now for example. At the TDL if a team lost their number 2 or 3 guy Coburn now becomes worht a first if the team has Stanley Cup assperations. - J35Bacher
But are they really? I don't get that impression. I think Buyouts for VLC and Umby are a real option at the end of the season. Then they can sign replacements at salaries, that combined with the cap penalties, would still be less than what VLC and Umby are being paid now.
I agree it is very plausible that the Flyers could get a 2nd(and probably more) for Coburn if they decided to deal him at the deadline. There will be playoff teams who feel they need a solid 2nd pair anchor type guy. I'm not sure I see it happening unless the deal is real good.
But to reiterate, I don't really feel the Flyers are desperate to make any kind of move. That is not to say they would not if the deal made sense. But I don't think Hextall makes any deal that doesn't help the team on the ice. That isn't desperation to me.
