You win. Or lose. Either or.
My wife brought a bottle of champagne home before the game and we brought it to our friends' place to drink if we won. Staring at that damn unopened bottle on the long cab ride home was brutal. It currently resides at the back of our fridge. One day... Until then, it just sits there, mocking me. - CubanBuffet
Very cool idea. I have sort of a similar thing going on here. I got a very nice bottle of a special edition Pinot Noir which I bought directly from a winery when one of my cohorts took me around the Sonoma region to the various wineries in between business dealings. I've now had it for around 20 years (although apparently a Pinot Noir wine is a 'younger' wine and tastes the best after 10-15 years, so not quite sure what it'll end up being like in the end. But I'm saving it for a very special occasion (no, NOT losing my virginity you heathens! .....ok, that too ) |

Hopefully you've got it in the dark on its side. Pinot doesn't cellar as long as heavier reds. Marwood has been name dropping Torts like a mother fcker lately.
Seems like a special occasion. |

In that case, I'm thinkin' that that 'special occasion' needs to happen fairly soon
I've tried to keep it not overly chilled (actually very lightly) and have it stored as you noted so cross your fingers.
You seem like you are a connossieur of fine vinos, no? |

This reminds me of one of the biggest let-downs of my life...
A few years ago I bailed out my boss, he had messed up a job with one of out big contracts, then left town on a cruise. So I went out of my way to correct his F-up. And did a lot of booty smooching, and made things right. Basically spending a week being the personal peon of our client.
When Bossman got back he made a big production out of giving me this 30 year old bottle of wine, supposedly worth $1,500 or so.
When I got to my Girl Friends place and opened it up the cork crumbled and the wine was basically vinegar with red food colouring.
Dumb bastard had apparently stored it upright for a few years.
The next week i quit, started my own company and stole the client that the whole ordeal began with.
Being self-employed is sweet, but I still want to know what a $1,500 bottle of wone tastes like. |

True, But this looks soooooo much more brutal. And the puck was atleast kind of near danny for a sec.
Churla was like a half a mile from the puck - vancity787
I remember CFOX jokingly raising money from it's listeners to pay the fine. I think it was $10,000 or something like that.
They ended up donating it to charity. |

Well, at least there's a bit of a positive aspect, in that you quit and managed to steal one of his clients in your new company. But that sucks that the wine was mishandled and essentially ruined. Vino certainly has a lot of variables to deal with and you can't cut corners (one of which is proper storage), lest you basically end up getting a litre of aqua velva flavoured wonderosity |

I certainly can't say how a bottle of $1,500 wine tastes like but what I can say, is that there is truly a palpable difference between a $20 bottle of wine versus a $100 doll bottle of wine |

Vancouver radio has been pretty down on Kasian lately coming just short of calling him a bust here. Just curious do most here agree and interested in trading him?
In a trade what kind of return would people be happy with? - stackthepads
Bust? 28GP, 1G, 2A, -11 = Cody Hodgson, that my friend is what you call a bust. With Hodgson what you see is what you get. Kassian still has the ability to grow his game. Why trade size, speed & untapped skill? |
