I would agree with that, and maybe even go as high as 14 points because as you mentioned this is a weak part of schedule and they must take full advantage.
Hey if Couturier and Read want to chip in with a goal or two on nightly basis then we may have a chance.
Still wish this team was tougher, it just doesn't seem to be the Philadelphia Flyers - 3flyerkids
It doesn't, but it's lacked an identity for a couple years, really. They need continued solid play from Couturier and Read moving forward. The biggest key to them being a playoff team was the continued development, offensively of Couturier and Schenn. But they need Read to produce as he has in the past.

That was such a bad devils lineup, there's just nothing much that can be taken away from that game other than the flyers aren't a complete dumpster fire |

Not worried about toughness. They need to become a hard team to play against. That will come with more injection of speed and puck moving ability into the lineup. |

He got off the hook pretty easy to. I would have thought the media would have ran with this for days but It lasted one day. The Leafs probably put " the case closed" out to all media outlets. He came across as a total fool...but he has been playing great since then ( God I hate the Leafs) - 3flyerkids
I thought maybe Bernier was "punking" the media with this, but I'm not really sure. It's impossible to believe he would attend some kind of red carpet event for Nelson Mandela and not know who he is.
Since stickgate, the Leafs have played some damned good hockey. Will make it sweeter when the inevitable collapse happens. |

i think this season theyre (frank)ed defensively unless roob will let manning play the 6th spot... cant be worse than what's been there. up front however is all together interesting. i gotta think vlc, sitting like he has maybe grew a chip on one of his shoulders and if so comes out like a gangbuster if roob ever gives him the nod. ryan white hopefully forces umberger out and we have some blueliners we could possibly trade ourselves... even if theyre in the hunt id like to see what they can get for amac.
just to clarify on manning, i dont think theyre getting a top pairing guy unless they move multiple pieces of their own blueline. - JoeRussomanno
Maybe if they trade a defenseman at some point, Manning will get in the lineup. And I don't think Umberger is coming out of the lineup if White plays. |

If White enters the lineup, it will likely be at the expense of Vandevelde. Now they just need two more players to replace Rinaldo, and Umberger. |

I think the Flyers are what they are this season. They are a .500 team at best, and are in the middle of a transition. They lack an identity, and leadership. They are waiting to dump some of those long term contracts, have other contracts come to an end, and have the young guys develop. Thus, next year might be more of the same. However, with several kids in the wings, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. It's just how patient the organization intends to be. I am glad that Hexy is staying the course for now, and I hope that he continues to do so.
I am also pleased with V-checks play, and his desire to win. I just hope that he doesn't get to frustrated, and revert back to his Columbus days. I also feel the same way about Mason. You can't expect a guy to face almost 40 shots a night, and a million odd man rushes on a nightly bases, and not have it take it's toll. Stick with it Mase. Some of the d-men that have filled in, have not been too bad. They were brought in as filler guys, but it could have been worse. With the teams vets, and leaders gone on d, it's a rag tag bunch. I worry more about some of our forwards not playing in both zones. Some nights they show up, others they just sit back, and watch. When guys shoot just for the sake of shooting, then I would start thinking about bringing in some new blood. The forwards don't challenge anyone, and are afraid of sitting in front the goalie. How many times have we seen shots from the circle, and the goalies turning aside or catching those shots. The only one that goes to the net on a regular basis, and sits there is Simmer. It's a tough, and thankless job, but I applaud Simmer for at least trying.
As mentioned, good luck to the guys that actually show up, and work hard. To the others, don't expect to be around the team for a long time. |

He had no clue who Mandela was . You would think the team publicist would go over it with him. I have a feeling they won't collapse this year ( even though I hope they do) look at their lineup and you can't believe how they are doing it. They have scored 20 more goals than the Flyers. The guy I wanted the Flyers to get Leo Komarov has played well...that's the type of player we need up front. |

So in other words a non-playoff team, drafting in the 9-14 range? Worst place you can be. |

I am curious to see white play. He can skate and plays more physical then VDV. Also I think he has more skill than Rinaldo |

It looks like Umberger will never come out. Don't know why? He seems very lazy and slow. He is a club worst -10 forward, just no excuse why he has not visited press box. White could bring energy and I am sure he will get a shot. |

Bernier is a dumbass for not knowing. Got it.
What I don't understand is:
1.) Why they would ask him to begin with?
2.) Why they would air the video, knowing how embarrassing it is to the guy?
Whole lotta fail going on with that whole thing. |

In the NBA, this is correct.
In hockey, you can make it work if you manage the cap correctly. |

This month is likely the season. The Flyers have a comparatively weak schedule, not many pushovers, but they don't have a week like they have had in the early going (Three straight vs California teams or that stretch before Halloween where they had Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit, LA & TB all on top of each other).
They have Carolina Saturday, then Tampa, Florida, Toronto, Winnipeg, Minnesota, Nashville, Phoenix, Colorado. They're going to need to get at least 12 out of a possible 18 points out of that stretch. - Jsaquella
That's a tall order for this club. Read and Couts finally woke up, and Simmonds worked his netfront magic, but the team as a whole was still fairly meh. Tomorrow's game is the next baby step. The next month is definitely going to be interesting. |

Here is a tough question.
Who scores first moving forward. Rinaldo or Hamburglar?
I will say Rinaldo even though he gets less ice and NO PP time |

There is something strange about it for sure. He has no right to be there. I would try Raffl or Bellemare...at least they can move |
