What about using some assets now to gain young NHL players, for example:
Couturier
Eberle
Tatar


*Maybe Blues 1st round & Myers get you that young scorer we desperately need on this team.

This is just a thought, don't want to hear "why would" or "we must Tank"

This team is starting to see some younger players show leadership (Girgs & Risto) and what it takes to win!

I know which camp you are in, but Sabres need to decide if they want to draft their premiere players or try to trade for them.
I'm not sure they ha e all the assets they need to be able to trade for their elite players. Are we sure Reinhart, Grigorenko, Armenia and others are all going to make our top 6? If so, start trading for players to compliment them and Ennis and Girgensons. If not, go draft the elite players.
Personally I think the jury is out on them being our top 3 ... which is what this team is lacking. Girgensons/Ennis/MattyMo make a fine 2nd line. To me that means you are.counting on either Gringo or Reinhart be I got your #1C. I'm not convinced...I think they are both 2Cs.

gives them roughly 20-24th pick overall which allows them to draft the best goalie prospect in the draft

not sure anyone ever expected them to be that bad. I originally had them between 70-75.

I lowered that total when they were getting absolutely manhandled to start the year. Normally a win streak like this would change that for me but outside of a select few this is still a pretty bad team.

I'll give major credit to nolan though, its not easy getting players to buy into the kind of style he's playing (at least not this era and with young guys).

The Oilers and Sabres do not make good trade partners. Two teams in the bottom of the standings don't make in-season trades with each other. The Sabres will be selling off their pending UFA's to playoff bound teams. Boston, Detroit, Nashville, and maybe Pittsburgh would be more likely partners.

What does old boys club mean? Is it that eberle, hall and the nudge know they are immune to discipline so they play hockey however they want even though it's detrimental to the overall team game? Or is it a reference to the management? Sorry Im unfamiliar with that phrase
