Sure we all do. We've been told to want that. If we really think its our leaderships only hope, than our leadership is a one trick pony. And I don't believe they are.

We are long overdue for a 1st pick. Why should the same loser team keep getting one.

They should have implemented 2016 draft rules now. Then we would have had a fair chance.
- sippyd

Pisses me off that first the NHL changed the draft rules a couple months ago and now other teams that should be very good, aren't. We can't catch a break,

More than anything it would be the ultimate punch in the gut to watch the Oilers get the #1 overall. I think they are approaching the point where the league is going to have to intervene with how that club in managed.

edit: Being due vs your players developing the way you hoped and having that cost you the first, isnt a worst case scenario.

They won't give them #1, but they are a lock for #2 which is just as good a pick.

Keeping Darcy as long as they did was a problem, Pegula should have cleaned house from the start.

Even with #1 or #2, they will still suck. What they need is #3. Hanifin

If moving 57 get's us closer to McDavid, ship him out. I think Myers should be kept for the rebuild but if the offer is good move him. The offers have been dial tones as of now.

I know that post sounds strange but.............

Not everything Darcy did was an abomination. The random choice to trade Gerbe and keep Ennis long term. Seemed random at the time, genius now.

Gerbe was as useless as Kaleta and Connolly

Time to forget about McDavid. Oilers can't win a game. Period.

He didn't trade Gerbe. He bought him out. Not that I care either way, but I couldn't understand that move. The team had worse problems than Gerbe.

He was one of the most useful people on a team with some pretty useless people.

Gerbe was a waste of a roster spot IMO, just like Kaleta is

There definitely should have been a provision in the new draft rules that state if you have gotten a bunch of firsts in the last 5 or 6 years, you're automatically bumped to #3 at best in the draft. Or may be you just arent in the lottery for #1 or something.

Kaleta is a good PK'r, but I'm afraid he hasn't learned his lesson. I didn't like that sucker punch he threw, and mostly because Cody had to rescue him after just coming off a concussion.

The former would work, but the latter still gets them Eichel.

As soon as they got bought out i knew they were going to become "budweiser north"
Its unfortunate, i used to like molson and labatts back in the day. I thought it was a decent quality beer for the price. Way better than coors, bud or miller and usually cheaper, too.

A close friend owns a bar on Grand Island, and I was up there today. He got a keg of it as a promo, but the poop is so nasty that nobody was buying it. He started drinking it just to free up the tap, and I tried to be a team player and help him out. Boy is it disgusting.
