This is true also but I'm just concerned with Burrows and Bonino's lack of speed with Vrbata. Higgins ate least can keep up with Vrbata and maybe produce a little puck luck I don't see it happening with Burr still there but I guess we'll see... - LordHumungous
I like the fact that they are giving Bonino a true second liner now to play with but I am not thrilled that they don't have a true top 6 guy to replace him with on the first

Higgins is a good third liner, and a mediocre second liner, there in lies our problems. Which IMO will catch up to them at some point this year, perhaps sooner than later. - LeftCoaster

It would not be frustrating if they started that years ago. |

That is the challenge.
Yesterday, I saw a couple comments about going after Stewart, maybe trading Jensen+, and I was thinking I'd rather keep Jensen.
Reminded me of trading away Grabner. Just as the guy is about to or coming into his own we lose him...
Not a guarantee Jensen will work out here and sometimes players are moved and thrive and it is hard to tell if they would have had the same results if they stayed, but we have developed so few forwards over the last decade because we either moved the picks or the young prospect or picked sh!t...
While I'd like to see a few moves, still want to keep on the building and development track. |

Unless the comments came from Jim Benning I wouldn't be too worried. Jensen for Stewart would be absolutely assinine IMO. Jensen is going to be a good winger for us one day. |

Higgins takes a lot of vacations and scores in bunches. - VANTEL
There's a big difference between a vacation and a slump. Hansen is the king of the vacation. Higgins is our hardest worker 9 out of 10 games |

I really don't like Vey 5 on 5 - good special teams player though. |

He's on the second line, therefore he's being paid to score, which he's not doing. Working hard is ok if you're rowing a boat, he needs to produce points, the NHL is a results business. |

He's making 2.5 mill. Most 2nd liners make more then that. Thus he's not being paid to be a 2nd liner. Just because our gm/coach put him there doesn't mean he's being paid to be there, no? |

I think that's the point , he is a third liner. |

I don't care how much he's being paid, that's his job, he's getting paid to produce points, which he isn't doing.
Burrows, Vrbata and the twins are the only forwards making more than him...they need to get someone better or someone younger because we know he's streaky. |

Higgins has more points then Hansen. He makes just as much and does far less. Hansen needs to go way before higgins |

Hansen is younger, therefore I like him better at the same dollar value. Higgins is a good complimentary player, but I'd rather see them go with Jensen if they're not gonna win it all and Higgins is not producing. |

My original point wasHansen is on vacation most nights and Higgins is easily are hardest working player. Which player would you rather be around your young players |

Agreed. I think its worth a 5 on 5 shot. Vey does do a good job of finding the soft spot in the slot |

If they both played in the bottom six I wouldn't mind so much, but with one of them (Higgins) taking up a top six winger spot I want him to produce more.
Hansen is fine as a fourth line winger, he does his job. |

HANSEN is on pace for 20 goals Higgins is on pace for 14 ,and Hansen gets no where near the prime ice time that Higgins gets |
