As you said they need to score . Daniel Hank 14 mil ,two top line spots to do what other teams use 1 player to do. Daniel needs to score.

I think it should be given a long look at . Danny is basically a centre that doesn't do face offs .

If you looked at every teams top two players on the first line I bet you would see the Sedins down around the bottom in goals ( not points) ? I believe our top line had 32 goals last year which is horrible . Most teams were sitting 50 to 85 goals.

We have two excellent passing forwards , we need to separate them and surround them with players that can put the puck in the net , that aren't named Burrows Higgins or HANSEN. We tried that it is past its prime.

Problem is we need scorers not people awarded assists on a pass back to the point or a puck bouncing off them. The only true sniper we have is Vrbata and a big question mark about Bonino.

HANSEN and Higgins are both not top 6 forwards ,we knew this two years ago.

I'm good with this team making a deal to try and get a sniping winger (or goal scoring center) but I think the immediate need is a true PMD... a guy who can control a PP and get some goals/points... OR a strong shut down guy who can play physical and block shots. (Think Willie Mitchell)

Derrick Pouliot in the AHL has 18 pts in 20 games, we should target a prospect. It is really too bad we didn't get Vantenen in the Kesler deal. He would be a cheaper option. He should be NHL ready next year.

We are mentioning goals because out top 4 goal scorers for the month are Vrbata Richardson HANSEN Mathias. If our top 6 would produce we could plan the parade.

I don't think coaching is the issue... even with Hamhuis this D core wasn't the strongest. We have Edler and Tanev who are the only real top 4 D we have. Everyone else is bottom pairing or AHL calibre. So yes, bringing in a solid top 4 Dman who can play 23-25 capable minutes should be a high priority.
