I like the fact that they are giving Bonino a true second liner now to play with but I am not thrilled that they don't have a true top 6 guy to replace him with on the first
- VANTEL

Yes that is a positive that Bonino gets Vrbata as it has been mentioned all year that Bonino needs that support so that will be interesting to see.

Even though Higgins is cold right now he works bloody hard out there and I think would benefit the Bonino/Vrbata thing way more than Burrows would...

Hard work generates puck luck and It's not that Burrows isn't 'trying' to work hard I'm sure he is... he is just way slower than the past few years to be totally effective in that manner. We'll see...

So maybe Hansens speed will help the Sedins it should but along the boards (where the Sedins need strength) I don't think Hansen will cut it. Matthias or Vey would make a bit more sense with Sedins but Vey is a defensive liability right now where Matthias currently is not. Sedins need Defensive support too so I get the Hansen thing a bit as the guy is pretty defensively responsible.

So I guess WD is doing what he thinks he can with what he has to work with because you are correct...we don't have another top 6 guy to replace Vrbata in the 1st line

We tied.

Unless 7-7 means different things where you are? I'd heard about BC bud, but that might be pushing it far even for that...

They do have but getting them to waive a NTC is a whole different ballgame.

Oilers could sure use an Edler or Hamhuis.

The other alternative would be a package with Tanev or Horvat and no one wants that.

We do have the pieces but no one would be willing.

Oh ya for sure Benning will draft better than Gillis and I think Benning was trying to acquire a higher pick at last June's draft? Would have been real nice to have snagged Ekblad...

We may have assets in place by the end of the season to deal for a top 5 pick which is for sure what we need as well.

I like Benning so far but Sam Reinhart is who he was targeting and I would have preferred Ekblad.

Exactly and if any team should know about selecting BPA at the draft , it should be the Canucks.

Our drafting has been historically bad, almost as bad as the Leafs, Benning will change that I hope!!!
