Yea we aren't that good, IMO Murray will be getting picks for Stewart and Stafford so even if we don't draft top 5 we can atleast move picks for a couple NHL ready players.

It's not rocket science to say the players or coaches won't tank.

And it'll look awfully fishy if the Sabres start trading away players after going on a 9-3 run. The league will certainly ensure Buffalo doesn't end up with a top 2 pick then. So, Murray has to be careful.

I've adopted the zen approach. Whatever happens, happens. I'm happy when they win (and it only benefits the young players that are here now to create that type of culture), but also realize that the odds of winning a Cup increase greatly with a world class talent such as McDavid. However, we have the top prospect pool in all of hockey, and with 3 more first rounders coming our way, it'll only get better and better.

In reality though, this team lacks talent up front and the other NHL cream will eventually rise above that, most times.

Just my two cents (sense, sents).

The Sabres deserve the 1st or 2nd pick IMO but as of now that won't happen.

Sabres are tanking to get away from the 1st pick not to get the 1st pick

Just saying it would be pretty awesome if we win the lottery when we finish 25th....

Damn guys, I'd have to tend to agree that the Sabres look poised to miss out on the McEichel prize...


That is, unless TM trades both Enroth and Myers this week (both have been instrumental in this resurgence).

But the only reason why this org should want to trade blossoming young home-grown talent, should be if McEichel is on the other end of that equation.

Otherwise, we still got Reinhart, Grigorenko, & Lemieux in the pipeline as well as 3 more 1st rd picks this yr (in a deep draft)... If even just one of these 1st rd picks hits, missing out on McEichel might not be the end of the world.



We actually kinda remind me of Calgarys rebuild a bit. But why should anyone really be surprised? It's Teddy Nolan, THIS IS WHAT HE DOES!!! He did it in Buf, NYI, Latvia... Why wouldn't he do it here again?

And btw, I know TM likes big-bodied goalies...

But how do you not see the long term potential in Enroth? He looks like Jonathan Quick over this past run!!!
