The more this team plays well, and the loss of quality assets this team has going for it now and in the future for somebody like Hall, the more I am ok with GMTM resigning the goalie(s) and trading the pending UFA's, along with getting rid of Hodgson (if possible).

I know everybody says drafting outside of the top 2 is bad and outside of the top 5 is a disaster, but this draft is very deep and having three 1st round picks and using all of them could really put them over the top down the road, whether that be trades or those players turning into something themselves.

I don't think Ennis and Zadorov gets it done for Hall IMO. Maybe if you replace Zadorov with Myers you can get the ball rolling.

Disagree, quite a bit.

They are not just prospect throw-ins. All have legitimate upside, and two of those can be quality centers.

Remember how the Wings were offering Larkin/ Kindl/ Frk for Myers.

All of those prospects have upside too. Its not going to get it done for elite players such as Hall.

Those guys don't crack the top 5 in our prospect pool. A team is not going to just ignore that.

Granted, it's going to take a nice package to get him.

im curious when the last time anyone was able to do that though. we always talk about how TM can package those picks for a player but i reckon the odds are quite slim. That and with every passing day those picks lose value (now it could go back up but im speaking for right now).

If you're drafting top 5, you don't have to give up your 4 best prospects in a package for someone else.
