If Murray decides to change directions with this rebuild and calls about Hall, and the Oilers are asking for any of Girgensons, Ennis, Myers, Risto, Zadorov... he shouldnt even consider. Not once. Not twice. Not ever. You fans happy about the win streak? Those names are the reason why.

I'd only consider a package of futures (draft picks and prospects), no current and future core pieces (the names I listed plus Reinhart, and probably BUF 1st next year). I dont care how talented Hall is. You dont build around one dimensional wingers. You dont give up your best assets in the middle of a rebuild just because hes an 80 point winger.

I think you are going to have to greatly overpay to get him, and there will be plenty of teams lined up to do just that, which is why I made that offer up to compete with other teams willing to do that.

He does, but he has serious upside, and you are giving them a more NHL ready version of him, that may be better, in Grigorenko.

If one of them pans out, you have solved their center depth.

If both pan out, you have made them a very good team down the middle.

IMO Murray has come to the conclusion that Hanifin or Kylington is the pick barring a miracle that they win the lottery.

Could be the opportunity for him to get a top end talent and replace what is given up without screwing up the rebuild.

Not necessarily. I am as high on Myers as anyone but Risto could be seen as more valuable. Younger, cheaper and *possibly* a higher upside.

Im a huge Myers supporter and the only thing I would move him for is a Hall caliber player. 80 point wingers at the age of 23 barely hit the trade market and If you have to give up Myers to get one so be it. Also in the short term it will make our team significantly worse and put us back in the running for a top 5 pick. Without Myers our defence in a couple years could look like this:

Zadorov-Ristolainen
Georges-Pysyk
McCabe- Ruhwedal(excuse the spelling)

And thats not accounting for possibly drafting one of Hannifin, Kylington, or Werenski(again excuse the spelling) or using the 30+ million in cap space we have to sign a Franson, Methot, or trade for defenders from teams that are kissing the cap next year.
