Imagine how much easier this season would be to take if they had VL, Umberger, Grossmann and AMac on expiring deals - PhillySportsGuy

Carle can be SOOOO infuriating at times. Our depth has improved, but it took a long, long time of being the laughingstock of the NHL. Now we're just not annoying team that everyone thinks is overrated.

He looked good. Pretty poised for a first start. He goes down to the ice quite frequently. He's a big guy, he still takes up a large part of the net. Bob had that same problem in Philly, but rectified it pretty quickly. |

I don't think MacDonald is bad. I think he is average to maybe above average at times. For what he is being paid though, right or wrong, he is just not good enough. I would have much rather let maybe Alt, or Morin or some low risk high reward type like Del Zotto fill that need on the third pair. I think the Flyers needed to do a better job of reading the market. I think lots of people knew del zotto was going to be available.

If that buyout didn't happen then we would have lost one or more of our young prospects. His contract wasn't sustainable in today's salary cap Era. He was a fan favorite, but his injuries, declining production and huge cap hit hurt us too much. |

I was impressed with his puck handling too. Usually Russian goalies really struggled in that department for the first few years. He seems adequate.
How do you see the goalie situation working out between Bishop and Vasilevskiy? |

What do you mean "declining production?" He sits out as a healthy scratch better than any player I've ever seen. |

My point wasn't really that he isn't worth 6 years 30 million. He may of got a similar deal from another team. I personally wouldn't give him that deal as I feel what he does can be found for cheaper.
My point was that when you take the entire package we gave up for Amac, I don't like it at all. That 2015 second rounder may prove to be extremely valuable. - JFlyers00
A solid overall two way defenseman such as MacDonald is well worth the cost of a 2nd round pick, in my opinion. I do however feel that a valid argument can be made that the practice of trading draft picks to acquire players early that are going into free agency, should cease, and just take your chances in free agency. |

In that case, the Flyers may have been better off waiting until free agency. I don't think it's that big of a deal if AMac walks compared to possibly overpaying him for 6 years. - NickTheKid87
I think that is a valid argument.

Just looked up things to do in Kansas. Slim pickings.
Apparently, there is a place called Mission Woods, which is ranked as the 4th best place to live in America. It has 175 people. |
