I got Carolina, nj, buffalo, and One of Washington or Ottawa finishing behind us in the east

Edmonton and Calgarys wheels will fall off out west

We draft no better than 7 and likely 8 as Florida will win the lottery again

Peter was way too hard on himself but he was a true star so that doesn't surprise me. He demanded a lot of himself. Perhaps its just because he was talking to Philly media who he almost sounded wistful about playing here. I don't regret Lindros at all. But man would it have been amazing if they could have done the Lindros trade without Peter involved.

Clearly you're thinking long-term. That's unacceptable. Please ban yourself from Flyers fandom.

Thank you.

Flyers could just as easily draft at the #3 spot. I don't see them falling to worst or second worst unless Edmonton and Carolina find some inspiration through great trades.

Could EDM get a lift with the coaching change?

I wonder with some of the talent they have how they can be so bad?

If they had a real goalie I think it would make a world of difference.

Mediocre goaltending and a lack of size, grit and heart up front plus a weak D group is killing them. Now add the leagues worst front office....

Hasn't Edmonton's wheels already fallen off?

Other than that, it's a solid team.

Sorry I meant just calgarys wheels

im hoping for a long term injury for jake, g, or mason. One that they can recover from for next year. If that happens that#3 is ours

Well put. He is a class act and one of my favorite athletes of all time.

I think about Lindros with Forsberg on the same team, it would not have been fair.

I have lots of regrets about what could have been with this team.
Even things like just keeping Justin Williams around, look at what a player he became.

I'm not rooting for anyone to get injured. I never would. It's possible they are bad enough on their own merits to be in the bottom 5 all year. They really don't ever beat good teams.

MacDonald is a solid all around 2nd pair defenseman. Who was arguably the team's best defenseman last night.

Uh, Nick Schultz was last nights Barry Ashbee recipient. Not debatable.

Thanks Bill. Guess who was on the ice for the first two goals against the Flyers? Coby. Nice. Dump him while you can, and at least get some picks.
Scotty L continues to impress. I can definitely see him wearing the C next. He learns from his mistakes, he doesn't quit on a play, and plays a two way game. What more could you ask for. G don't look over your shoulder.

- OrangeAndBlack1

yeah i don;t think they are taking away the C from G anytime soon, nor should they and definitely not for a 20 year old kid.

That's right. 2-0 against LA this year. Bodes well for a potential SCF matchup.

Wishing for an injury is so... Ugh I don't know seems wrong

I'd personally like to see them make the playoffs but it is such a stretch with this mix.

Tampa is just a bad matchup for them. It truly exposes the worst in their current team and it brings out the doom and gloom.

I understood bringing Markov in who I loved but yeah, keeping Williams would have helped a lot. I know its not productive to do the what ifs all the time but imagine the Flyers take Jagr instead of Ricci (the just fired Clarke has said in THN draft preview he thought Jagr was the best of the lot. Imagine they didn't move Peter in the trade. Oh well. I mean, they made some great moves too over time.

Thing is, he's doing all he can do, as far as I'm concerned. Obviously, none of us see what goes on behind the scenes, but I think he's leading as good as he can be. He's preaching it, and he's practicing what he preaches. I think half the team players just straight up aren't good enough. No amount of coaching or leadership is going to turn a born 3rd line winger into a 90+ point guy, or a 7th Dman into a first pairing guy. It was questionable last season, whether or not G should have the C... this year, I don't feel that's a issue.. the issue is the lack of good personnel on the ice...
