Anybody think that Tim Murry may be of the opinion that he wouldn't even trade Myers for Hall straight up?

nah. i think murray is ok with using myers to acquire a piece up front. plus, our team would be worse for the rest of this season, which probably helps our pick. also, taylor hall is somebody that could be flipped (not suggesting that he would be). essentially you would be getting taylor hall and hopefully a first line center in the draft for myers.

The whole premise was that Mantha was untouchable. He said my proposal for only futures is the same thing as DET posters saying we cant give up Mantha, Jurco, Tatar, Nyquist for Myers. Which is fine, no deal. However, we actually HAVE assets in fair value to give up for Hall without giving up roster players. Its not quite the same.

Depends on who the prospect/players are.

Any good NHL GM (on a rebuilding team) IMO should have a lineup board and should have an idea of what their roster need/wants to look like in 2-3 years from now
I only want Murray to be targeting specific players that fit that idea of a lineup.

If he views Anthony Mantha or Taylor Hall a fixture on the top line for 10 years, and doesn't figure Myers on the top pairing, then make the deal

In knowing this, even if he viewed Myers as a 2nd pairing guy, I dont think he'd be willing to give him up for a scoring winger.

Hall and Myers are similar in a lot of ways.
Ones 23, the other is 24, both signed long term for 5.5 and 6.0 per season.

Why would Arizona even do that?..... We could do it and not deplete or stunt our rebuild. Arizona would take years to recover. Whats the sense in trading for Hall if you cant put players around him...

No. Murray doesnt think that highly of Myers. He would do that deal im confident. Im also confident that Myers straight up is not enough to get Hall.
