You know what? (frank) Vinny. I am still pissed about 2004 anyway. I could care less if he sits. Even if they squeak into the playoffs they don't look like they will make much noise. Let younger guys like Laughton or JPB stay on the ice. Personally I'd like to see them acquire, develop, whatever a big nasty LW with some hands and the willingness to bang along the boards and get to the front of the net for the Giroux line. Let Raffl have Bumberger's spot with Couts and Read. Get an Adam Hall/Jim Dowd type to center the 4th line and ease in the young D over the next few years. If the young D pan out they could be very competitive in 2 to 3 years. - Lexington Flyer
Nonsense lets all keep living 10 years in the past. Grab your Hawaiian shirt and lets head on down to listen to some Avril Lavigne.

Also I think they need to get back to a physical style of play. They don't have to be the Bullies but the flyers need to make it hard on teams. The physical play sets the tone. I am tired of this softening trend ... it all started with John Stevens and his (frank)ing cakes. Skate, hit, score, don't be (frank)ing useless. |

amputation imminent. i swear, the flyers and their prospects are the only ones who get injured blocking shots, especially with their feet. |

Speaking of Jerry, I recently saw Kimock and friends tear it up doing Garcia songs from the R and B wing. Coming to The Ardmore in March. |

With an 8 game road trip looming, tonight is a must game IMO. Failure to get 2 points tonight would be fatal to their very slim playoff hopes. |

I'm waiting for:
Sanheim breaks his wrist playing XBox
Morin blows out his knee dancing
Hagg ruptures his spleen by farting
Sadly, at least one of the above will happen |

...and probably the same night. They'll have a party after a win, Hagg will say "listen to this!" will pushing a fart out, rupturing his spleen, the stink causes a drunk dancing Morin to stumble and blow out his knee all while falling onto the couch where Sanheim his playing xbox, breaking his wrist... and as an added bonus, Laughton happens to be there and get's his eye snapped out by Morin's flying beer bottle when he was falling. |

I hate this team more than any other Flyers team. EVER. They are slow, have no heart, have no puck skills, limited hockey sense, overpaid, get out worked almost every game, dont fight. The WORST!!!
Seriously, the only players I would consider keeping in the future If I was Hextall are as follows. Everyone else... GTFO!
Giroux, Voracek, Mason, Simmonds, Schenn, Couts, Laughton, Raffl, and Streit. |

Yep. VLC and Umberger took him to family night at the movie theater to see a showing of "It's a Wonderful Life". So he was nowhere near the festivities.. |

Honestly, I don't see Lecavalier changing the kind of player that he is. Personally, I don't think he can at this point even if he wanted to. He is an offensive player, and a shooter. I think that's all he can offer a team at this point.
I have some thoughts going through my head about the current situation, and I'll admit first, that this is pure speculation on my part, maybe even wild speculation. There is no factual basis for any of what follows to be clear. I don't think Lecavalier had an injury this past week. I think he temporarily left the team and didn't want to practice. Berube stated that Lecavalier "looks hungry" and is noticing his skating. That doesn't sound like a player who had an injury and had to miss practice because of it. I'm speculating that Lecavalier is unhappy with the situation, and that the Flyers brass sat down with Lecavalier, in which he said if he's not going to play, then he wants out. Can't trade a player if nobody wants him, and Lecavalier is not at this point willing to walk away from the money. So I think they made a deal, in giving him another shot, and if he really wants out, then he has to show that he can still play, so they can move him in a decent deal for all sides. Otherwise he's in limbo as a scratch. That's why they're going to play him on a scoring line, and willing to give him a shot.
Again this is pure 100% speculation on my part, and it may be complete BS. I just think it's a possible scenario of what's going on. - MJL
I actually thought this too. I think they gave him time away and then said we'll give you a shot to make something happen but right now you have no value. They might have also told him that he is going to have to be open to going places he previously didnt want to if something opens up and then can make a trade.

This (frank)ed up obsession with LeCavalier reeks of not being able to look at the obvious and realise a player is done.
To look past the unicorns and rainbows of what he "used to be", and being a fan of that player.
Its like those (frank)ing condoms, sure they were cool and safe before.. Time to face reality. - flyer_nutter
He is on the team and being paid, if they have any hope of trading him, they have to play him at some point. I don't know anybody who thinks that Lecavalier can be what he "used to be". Have to give him a chance at some point. |
