I would gladly give you a 4th or 5th round pick for Danny Briere. - j.boyd919
He hasn't been bad this year, has had some clutch goals already and has had some really nice games even if he doesnt hit the score sheet.
Just dont see high 2nd or 3rd round picks for him. Maybe at the deadline if there is a bit of a bidding war based on the availability of rentals |

So it seems Crosby will play tonight. Who do the Pens sit between Rust, Farnham, and Ebbett? You would think Ebbett sits, but who knows with this team. |

He's exactly what I would want heading into the playoffs.. yeah a bit pricey at 4mil, but he's the perfect playoff rental. Proven to be clutch in the playoffs and he never played a really physical game considering he's only 5'9"... I think he would help a lot, that kind of skill doesn't usually just disappear, especially if he has a legitimate shot at a cup with the Pens. |

No I meant because Sutter was included in the deal for ROR.
It was ROR ($1M retained) and Talbot for Sutter and Harrington - YouMeAndDupuis9

Add ROR's wife to Letang's and Comeau's hot blonde wives.
Forget the players, keep trading for hot wives... - YouMeAndDupuis9
Didn't we try that with Mike Comrie back when Hillary Duff was still kinda hot? Didn't work out so well. |

The penguins are the least likely team to make a trade for a top 6 player in my opinion, they did that in the past and they traded away a lot of their assets. For them to get anything of value they would need to give away more than the trash half of you are offering.
Also the idea of Hall playing for the penguins will never happen unless they are sending Maatta, Letang, 1st and a center/depth forward... edmonton will not trade the best LW in the league for nothing, they will want to get an overpay, and pittsburgh is known to overpay to get what they want. this wouldnt even make sense for pittsburgh, so they would never do it.
i think that if pittsburgh should be going for anything it should be another defenceman, in the case that they lose some for the playoffs... also a goalie to play behind fleury |

Letang, maatta, sutter and a 1st better get us Gretzky in his prime. Letang for Hall alone is a toss up. We will not get Hall, this is understood by people who think logically.
The farthest thing we need is a defenseman, we have at least 9 who can play NHL right now. What we need is another top 6 (think tlusty in carolina, not evander kane) maybe another depth player as well like klinkhammer
Also trash we are offering? Top prospect Dmen and picks? |

I think he's another heart and soul guy like Hornqvist. All contract issues aside, on the ice, he would be a perfect fit as a top 6 wing and emergency center in case 87 or 71 go down.

In what trade has Pittsburgh ever overpaid for anything? The only one that comes to mind is the Jagr to Caps trade back in 2001... even looking at the history of their trades I don't see anything that was overpaid for... and to suggest that they need another defenseman, I think that shows you don't follow the Pens a lot. They have plenty of defenseman in the pipeline... Dumo, Harrington, Pouliot, and not to mention one of Bortuzzo or Depres is occaisonally scratched when everyone is healthy... If you had followed the Pens, you would see that top 6 is exactly what the team needs. Not only would it help out the top 6, but the trickle down effect to the rest of the lineup would increase the depth for the the remainder of the season and post season. The pens could use a top 6 winger, as well as a bottom six player in my opinion, because Sill and Adams are just awful.
Edit: Forgot about the "trash" people are offering... I wouldn't consider Pouliot, Harrington, or Dumo trash. |

Viktor Stalberg on waivers. Always thought he would fit well wit the Pens, but 3.5M may be too much right now.
Edit: His cap hit is 3M, and he has 2 more years after this one. |

I'm sorry but the vast majority of this is wrong. Not like I don't like you type of wrong, just flat out wrong. Overpayments, need of a defender, sending a top pairing for a single winger. Just wrong. |

I wanted him in the Neal deal with Horny. Though Nash would like to unload his salary. I'd make a trade only if they retain 1/3 to 1/2 his salary. |

It may be a smart move claiming him if he makes it to the Pens. Would be a top 6 option, young, and doesn't cost anything. |

Stalberg is what we need. Provides more depth and could possibly play with geno, I mean look what comeau does with geno... at the very least 3rd line player
Best part is we don't lose any assets except cap space. |

Expensive though. I don't claim, I wait till he clears and see what they would like and how much salary they retain. I'd rather call about Tlusty than anyone right now. |

I'd put in a claim. Granted, it might involve putting someone else on waivers here. We might be at/close to the contract limit. But I'd do it. He'd fit well with Geno or on the 3rd line. He's a little pricey, but I think it's worth the shot. |

I'd put a claim in. Free asset while we have the relief from Dupuis. Big body, fast. If he doesn't pan out too well, put him on waivers again. Just an experiment and you can't really lose.
I haven't watched nearly enough Predators hockey lately to know why he is on waivers though. Has he been struggling? injure prone? Or is this just a cap dump?
By all means, if we can pull off a Jokinen deal, I'd be fine with that too. Trade a 6th and have them retain some salary. |
