The Flyers are not making the playoffs this year, lets stop kidding ourselves.

In regards to my previous post about moving vets, I'm not advocating moving them all today. However as we get closer to the deadline, deals to acquire more picks and prospects need to be made.

If they lose tonight, it's time to put to rest any hope of making the playoffs and time to start moving vets for draft picks. I'd be open to moving any of the following:

All 8 of our Dmen
VLC (be willing to eat salary to make it happen)
Umberger (yeah, good luck with that, I know)
Bellemare (doubt anyone wants him, but if they do...)
Read
Rinaldo (see Bellemare)

I know people don't want to hear it, but I'd listen to offers for Schenn and Coots as well. You never know what offer might fly your way involving them. All I'm saying is, they aren't untouchable in my mind... as much as I like them both.

I woulsd listen to offers on just about anyone other than Giroux and Voracek but I think Schenn is really starting to turn the corner and Couts is yet to blossom. They would be trades we regretted because I doubt the return would be worth it at this point.

That's ok, let the leafs win now. That way it will be much more fun when they end the season with 10 straight losses, miss the playoffs by one point and, as an added bonus, go absolutely crazy because they traded their 1st for a deadline rental!

Yep. If they are going to put the guy in at least give him a chance. Let him play with 14 and 24. I am sure the all precious Zombie could handle 4th line duties

Put VL on 3rd or even take a chance and give him some time with G and Jake.
He has ZERO chance with Rinaldo

What needs to happen is the right moves need to be made. The Flyers aren't going to panic like some of the fans are, and have a fire sale. They need to continue to evaluate the team and make smart moves, not just make moves.

I think quite a few of us have been on the non-playoff-making boat for a couple weeks now. What's more, even if they did happen to squeak into the playoffs, they aren't very likely to make any noise but rather go out with the weakest of whimpers. And that is a wasted opportunity in my book.

You offer arguments but no solutions....you must be in the law field...AS for the flyers the current course isnt exactly leading to a stanley cup...something has to change...the gm changed now its the players/coaches who need to go.

2013-14 flyers - 29 pts in 31 games

Last years team went on a 10-2-1 run after game 31.

He tinkered with the entire lineup throughout the year. It's probably time to just get out of his own way, settle on 4 lines, and let them get as comfortable as possible with each other.

I would have ripped him for that also, yes. He has no place on this roster anymore.... Berubes hands are tied. I honestly cant think of where to put him.
