And if Leaf management has same overinflated value that Leafs fans have of kadri, Gardiner and Reilly it is little wonder the constant rumors are always followed with no Leaf trade. Now, before Leaf fans get their panties in a knot I am NOT saying these guys aren't good players, or that they may have good potential. BUT, we were discussing a package to land a 23 or 24 year old kid who has already finished the season a top 10 scorer (top 5 or 6 I think). Hall has proven to be the real-deal.

Reilly is good, may even become VERY good in the coming years. BUT, not even in the same class as Hall. Hall could easily be mentioned with the top 10-20 forwards in the NHL. Reilly is not near a top 10 NHL D-man yet. To get Hall the Leafs would HAVE to part with Reilly and some more pieces....Kadri alone would not cut it.

As a Hawk fan I have no vested interest in either the OIl or the Leaf fortunes. In fact, I think the Oil made a awful mess of not making a better offer for Leddy, who would have fit well with their fast skating team. Still, Hall is a SUPERSTAR, a very young guy who has done it. Oil will not part with him unless they get ample return. So, put Gardiner away....Start with a Kadri, Reilly, 1st package and tweak from there. And stop insulting the Oiler fanbase with such lowball offers.

and seguin is most certainly a fantastic hockey player.
as far as return, I wouldn't take that same package for hall. its wasn't even a terrible package. but they wanted seguin out.. and the bruins are worse than they would be had they kept him.

when you need to convince the other team why they should want and love the trade, and then have to resort to call them idiots for not being interested....
its probably because its not a good trade.
