I love how the Flyer's apologist who just a few weeks ago INSISTED that this is a playoff team is now on the bubble. This poop is just priceless.
And, just for poops and giggles, last time I checked, lacking a top D pair would certainly be a lack of talent.
Priceless - BiggE
Not sure who you're referring to, but if it's me that you're referring to, you're again, as usual innaccurate. I've never guranteed that the Flyers will be a playoff team, only that they are capable of making the playoffs, and have a roster capable of makng the playoffs. I stand behind that.
Also go back and read what I posted, I didn't state that lacking a top D pair is not a lack of talent, so what are you talking about? I stated that only looking at talent, is incomplete and lazy analysis.
Lastly, you'll notice that I have the courage to confront you directly, instead of indirectly. And what happened to your ignore button? |

Thats okay, we don't have to agree.
I will say I don't think its all berubes fault but he does deserve criticism for his division of ice time and benching. - twotoekenn
I don't have a problem with icetime or the benchings. I think there is a lack of understanding among some of the fan base in terms of why a player is scratched, and why some aren't.
Lastly, the biggest indictment I have of Berube is his team doesn't show up ready to play in a lot of games, such as last night in the first period. I put a lot of blame on the players for that, but ultimately the coach has to share culpability in that. It's his job to get problems corrected. And I don't think that issue is all about talent. |

The reality is they are not a playoff bubble team.
They will or should be sellers very soon.
The number of scouts at the game last night shows this is the unfortunate truth.
How Hexy approaches the TDL is going to be very interesting. |

I think the number of scouts at the game is about other teams looking to purge players from the Flyers and to possibly take advantage of the situation. For the number of bad players the Flyers have according to some fans, there sure is a lot of scouts there to watch them. Unless we think they're there to watch Giroux and Voracek play. |

So if the personnel is good enough for other teams to want, then what is the problem here? |

It's going to be comical and frustrating at the same time when this dead team starts winning in February and March only after they sell off pieces on the back end and brings up Manning and play Colicavo, decide to finally bury Lecavalier and Umberger, G goes down with a season ending injury.
I will put money down on them having a higher winning percentage in March and April as opposed to the rest of the season |

Other than hanifin, are there any other stud d-men projected to go high in the draft? - twotoekenn
Werenski, Provorov, Zboril, Roy are the ones that seem high on most lists:

so we have too many centers, the plan (collectively) going forward is to suck bad enough so we can draft mcdavid or eichel (centers) and yet we cant trade a center or two cause "that's dumb"... this (frank)ing place is a gas sometimes - JoeRussomanno
McDavid also plays LW |

I don't think he does. some of his interviews sound like he is too proud for that.
Him retiring doesn't actually help us does it? - nails
It does. His contract would be completely off the books in terms of cap hit. |

I think the Flyers are going to trade 1-2 defenseman at or before this year's TDL.
Teams in the playoffs need depth on D to make a long run.
The scouts are probably looking at guys like Schultz, Grossmann, and LSchenn who won't cost too much to acquire, and maybe even Coburn who would cost more.
Because of their contracts I think it is less likely Amac or Streit gets moved and I doubt the Flyers are interested in moving Streit right now. But you never know. |
