One of the biggest knocks from Tolkein's estate (fam) and Viggo was the overuse of CGI. Made the other two movies feel like I was watching a video game. Jackson was also quoted as saying he wished he did all the orcs in LOTR as CGI as well.

Was he speaking as to the ease of preparation for filming, or preference? Because I can understand if it was a huge pita getting makeup on all the orcs for every filming day, wasting time in a sense, and saying in hindsight "I wish we would have done them all in CGI"... but if he's saying that's his preference overall, and that he actually thinks it's better..?

for all his flaws, and although i do think it was a good deal for the flyers overall, the scoring depth did take a hit with hartnell.

the flyers traditionally have 5 or so guys over 20 goals. the pens, not so much. despite their wingers getting to play with the 2 best playmakers the game has going.

while ill admit im biased and ill give the nod to crosby and malkin over the duo of g and g voracek, they certainly have closed the gap considerably. guys like comeau and read would be welcome additions to your THIRD line, but on the pens, they are first/second line players.
