Good Lord -- I admire Michael Raffl's toughness
But, um...we're sure we don't want Byfuglien? Absolutely 100 percent???? - AllInForFlyers
I've wanted Byfuglien for years |

I'll give you Roethlisberger, but Manning is a current day Jim Plunkett. Johnson's comparable to guys like Bartkowski, Gabriel & Eason. Good starter, gaudy numbers, but not elite. - Jsaquella
johnsons not elite but he managed the ball really good... thats the thing i find when discussing qb's with ppl that they overlook... a qb these days has to be more mobile than johnson, but mobility alone is not enough, a qb's job at leadt imo, is to protect and distribute the football... also its good to see how they play in the 4th... lately i see a lot of eagle fans ready to ship folesout and i think theyre making huge mistake if they do that. |

What would we even do with him?
I'm serious. Not being negative. But what do you do with him? Does Laughton go to 4C? Do you trade Laughton?
I'd rather they get a No. 1 defenseman, somehow - AllInForFlyers
It's true. I've been thinking this for a while actually. But the answer I give myself is that it doesn't matter. You get a player like that, you make it work. |

Laughton can play wing or Couturier. |

I don't care if a guy moves like an Oak tree, as long as he protects the ball. Johnson wasn't great, he was a good starter. Wasn't going to carry a team to the Super Bowl which was my point.
You don't need John Elway or Tom Brady to win a Super Bowl. You often need a good team around whomever your QB is-Marino was a fantastic QB. Never won poop. |

Have to push back. They are mugging you physically and taking the game over on the boards.
I haven't seen a game in a while for this crew but outside of that top line, nobody can handle the puck.
Would be nice if one of the d-men could do something more than basic north/south 5 foot pass on a break-out. Neanderthal. |

I guess the question is do you really want Laughton as your 3RW, which is really the spot you need? Instead of a player who is a real winger, not a converted one?
I've just never been a believer in the "good problem to have" scenario. I'd rather not have dealt with watching Schenn and Lecavalier try to adjust to playing wing
Once, I'd like to go into the season with a roster that makes sense

For what its worth I think Laughton would be a better winger. Couturier doesn't have much of a grit game. |

They absolutely could use two wingers with size and board tenacity

Hate to say it, but landing McDavid makes Laughton expendable.
Can you say package for a defenseman?
Of course, the Flyers are not going to be the worst in the league. For better or worse, I'm pretty sure of that.
It'd be nice to get Eichel. Less of a headache. Just stick him at wing!! |

Big if, but if that happened I am not 100% sold on Couturier over Laughton. |

I do agree. However, it's tough to "guess" how a player would look playing out of position. No guarantees, ya know? |

I'd absolutely hate to trade either of them, but if McDavid is in the picture....I say you have to do it to get a defenseman. Hell, trade em both for Shattenkirk |

It's frustrating, because this league is so jacked up right now. You can't get what you need without sucking.
They need another winger to get Umberger out of the Top 9, and they really need two of these young defensemen to develop and be difference makers
It can't take five years. Two of these defenders have to be ready to rock in three years. They have got to be - AllInForFlyers
you can get what you needif you give up something or the other gm is a nitwit, see jeff carter trade.... im sorry but this team better hold onto laughton hes becoming more and morewhat i thought hed be: a complete all around center. |

He has in Juniors I believe. He has the skill set to do it too. Most centers can learn wing if they're given the proper amount of time and the proper linemates. |

Laughton definitely has the skillset to be a winger. I agree with that. Nutter said it earlier as well.

I just get annoyed with Couturier. Don't know what it is, I know he is good and all that.
He just rubs me the wrong way. Very vanilla. |

I can see how people get frustrated with him, but I always tell those people to look who he plays against.
