Imagine if that was Crosby. Imagine it. - Giroux_Is_God
The Mounties would have been called in and arrested Buf on the spot |

At this point winning the game isn't the main issue. Punish them for abusing G. This is bull poop. This team has no spine. |

For years, back to the Stevens era when I can remember they played at their best when they played chippy. Initiated and got into some of the after the whistle stuff.
Buff could jizz into Giroux's eyes and nobody would respond. BS coaching strategy, played like scared female doges in fear of a penalty call. - flyer_nutter
i just dont think fighting really does a lot, well a lot of the ones that actually occur anyway. but man, even just to see that someone cares enough to do something. i do think that a lot of you have hit the nail on the head though with the coaching mindset being to avoid being potentially shorthanded as much as possible. |

It's asinine, the guy leads the NHL in scoring the past 4 years, gets run from behind and high sticked, no call on either and the (frank)ing lifeless bag of stiffs on his team don't respond at all - Jsaquella
The first time this really reared its head was when Megna ran Mason last year causing that injury. No response. None and it was dirty as hell.
Giroux gets female dog slapped far too often and there is no response. Frankly it shouldn't come to that. Flyers should be the team initiating that kind of play.

giroux is taking a beating this game. but man dude has some grit to him.
i dont know how that was not a penalty. im not really an after the whistle kind of guy, but someone on this team needs to stand up for him. - stayinthefnnet
Buff will be getting a phone call tomorrow, no doubt.
Something tells me the league will have some notes for these refs tomorrow too. |

Its coaching clear as day. The message has been sent even if they aren't built to be the most gritty club.
No offense, I appreciate your input but the style of play you don't agree with is what best cripples your own club. |

Pretty much..Its even worse with Hexy as the GM because we all know he would have done something about that last hit on Giroux.. - opeth_pa
It's not even a matter of fighting. Line up Bryan Little and slam him into a (frank)ing wall. Catch Wheeler with his head down and bury him. |

Simmonds does it. But once he starts he doesn't have an off switch and starts taking really bad penalties. Our D men are so passive when it comes to that stuff.

and just from an nhl standpoint. again. they just have such a (frank)ing stupid mindset that stars should be allowed to be subjected to whatever, because if they are stars then they will rise above it.
just awful officiating pushing an awful, out of date, and nonsensical sentiment. |

I'll be honest, I kind of want to see Laughton drop em with Kane. |

Simmonds could stand to learn how to (frank)ing handle a puck in transition. He's useless unless he is in the offensive zone. |

The problem is who?
L. Schenn and Simmonds are the only really tough physical players dressed tonight..
Grossmann is big and by being big he can sometime hits hard but that doesnt make him a physical player.
I am just utterly amazed that there is no response by anyone. This is my biggest issue with the team that Hexy and Berube are dressing.. |

They have turned a blind eye to several dangerous plays. It's gotten pretty scary out there.
Somebody should point out to the refs that it's Giroux and not Rinaldo wearing #28. |

Hard to watch....but hey our leading goal scorer can look after that....with what bellemare, VDV, Umberger or Vinny bring ....I can live with 3 shifts a night from Rosehill.....crappy and wimpy. |

Luke Schenn, Grossmann, Schultz, Simmonds, Laughton, Brayden Schenn. They have the guys who can respond.
Hell isn't MacDonald supposed to have any grit or is he completely useless unless he is blocking a shot. |

Crosscheck bufflin in the small of the back when he's 4 feet from the boards.
He'll fall nice and hard. Believe me. |

To protect your $8+ million franchise player I'd take the frigging Hanson brothers at this point. This is setting a terrible precedent. |

Man I hate that approach because those same hits are just as dirty on Rinaldo or any other player.
Flyers are just a bunch of marshmallows this year...

oh a hundred percent agree with you there. no offense taken. it would be ridiculous to think otherwise.
im not advocating the flyers do something dirty. nor should this mentality be how they always need to be. but right now in this game the liberties being taken on giroux are ridiculous.

It's dumb, I don;t think there should be special treatment, per se, but that Byfuglien hit should have been called. The Thorburn stick...
But the Flyers need to respond. Not necessarily fighting, but got to start hitting back. |
