It has been a long and hard road during this rebuild. At times I know most of us wondering if we would ever see days like this again. It took a while but the kids have grown up and the organization brought in the right veteran presence to help balance out this roster. I don’t know where this road is going to take us but after all the years of being the league’s punching bag, it is nice to do the punching for once. Enjoy what you are watching right now, this team has character, works its butt off and is fueling off of you. If the barn is this loud now I can’t even imagine what it will sound like come this spring. - Dan Petriw
Good blog Dan!
First bold - I had some serious doubts.
Second bold - I'm enjoying every second of it. I almost always feel they they can win the game no matter the score. It's been a LONG time since I felt that way. It's been great! |

Great game and team effort last night. That goaltender looks like the real deal guy was incredible. Going to start a petition to get Boychuck on the first PP unit again. Desperately need that shot from the point again which will also open up some space in the slot from the defenders playing the shot. My only gripe and IMO its a fairly big one. Im having a hard time understanding what the thought process is seems obvious to me? With that said this team has got me giddy they are one of the most exciting teams I've watched in I dont even know how long? Attack in waves and just crash the net. Super exciting. |

Cappy probably doesn't like Boychuk playing PP minutes so he is fresher for his ES and PK minutes. |

Very nice blog Dan.
Ithink the PP not working has alot to do with how we enter as much as the too many passes have to do with it. Weight/Cappy need to change things up. |

theres other ways of dividing the ice time. Guy has a ridiculous shot its exactly what our PP is missing. |

The other way of dividing ice time is giving Boychuk 2 extra minutes of PP time and putting Strait out there for 2 extra minutes of ES time I guess. |

I've been a fan of this team since the glory years and I can honestly say I have never heard the building as loud as it was last night. And I'm including playoff games in that statement. What an awesome feeling it was and I can't wait for more. |

This team is dangerous as is right now. Think if they are able to add another piece to the puzzle down the road, that won't cost an arm and a leg. Can't see buffalo being a partner. Maybe Carolina or Arizona, both looking towards a fire sale. Personally, I think a Doan or Iginla would be great with this team. |

I don't think Colorado is going to trade a guy they just signed for 3 years in the first year of his contract. Doan is going to retire a Coyote.
Also, bleh on both anyway. |

Dan is the man........... Glad to see JT on on the rise, cant imagine what this team will be like with a legit first line playing consistent. We can beat the Habs, and I am pretty sure we will. Great time to be a Islander fan! Lets go Isles and Cowboys! |

That iginla contract is awful. I'm thinking Tlusty, Doan maybe Tanguay |

the team is deep enough to win right now meaning this year. trade whatever you need to to win a cup NOW. you can dream of building a juggernaut team that will be together for years, but that is unrealistic. I WANT THE CUP ASAP at anyones expense!!!!!!!!! |

This isn't a video game. If the deal makes sense you make it. I wouldn't force anything that's not there |

I wasn't saying let's go trade the farm for the guy. I just think a vet like one of those guys would be a great fit for JT and KO. Both guys are battle tested, know the grind and can give much needed support going forward. Even a Jagr. Man has an infinite drive for the sport and always looking for more.
I don't think Tlusty would be a bad option. Honestly didn't even know Tanguay was still playing. |

I watched enough of the 3rd period to conclude that Carolina is positioning itself well for the McDavid Sweepstakes. |
