jesus...Halak has played every game in December save for one Chad Johnson start. Johnson gets the last start before the short Christmas break and everyone is screaming about it? Halak is now going to have a full week off going into Saturday's start against Buffalo. I can't find a reason to have an issue with this.
- eichiefs9

exactly!
Also the isles would be in trouble if Halak ever gets a long term injury and Johnson isn't able to carry us. So we need Johnson to get his groove, he will only get that from getting starts and building his confidence.

I'm not so sure he has a groove to get.

How can you guys still be criticizing Capuano? We're one of the top teams in the league right now. A coach deserves the criticism when the team is losing but, also deserves praise when the team is winning. Get over it. All the experts on hockey panels are praising Jack.

Does that praise include the PK?
- David_Volek

95% of their game is positive but, here you are pointing out the 5% that's not. Most teams aren't top in a every element of the game. They definitely need to improve the PK. Maybe it will catch up to them but, right now their winning so i don't care how they do it.

Since Bruins and Canadiens are in the same division, Johnson may have played against them last year. He also needs some work and break will be benefecial to Halak.

Pretty sure this was said to me word for word at the beginning of the year when I criticized the pk, right before they lost three in a row. Then everyone started pointing out the problems with the pk once they finished calling me negative.

I don't think anyone's asking for tops in penalty killing. Maybe just a shade better than "last". Obviously there's a whole lot to be happy about, but a horrible PK can really bite you when it counts...it'd suck to see a really good season come to an end on a late PK due to a questionable call, or something like that.

Is there harm in wondering what the problem is there? They have a goalie who stops pucks, they have enough solid d-men to get through a 2-minute kill, and the majority of their forwards are probably actually better defensively than offensively. The pieces are there to have a very good PK. But I think there's a big enough body of evidence to say it's something other than just bad luck.

Your right lets fire Capuano and the coaching staff. I'm not saying they don't need to improve on it, obviously they're last in the league. Most of those bad PK stats came from the beginning of the year when both goalies weren't playing well. They're also missing their #1 PK guy Grabner. Obviously as fans you look at all those weaknesses when they're losing but, their wining so try to be a little positive.

Not going to jump into ur convo but wanted to point out that Grabner is not the #1 PK player on team, he helps for sure but he's not #1.......

Have a nice day....

There's no doubt the special teams including PP need to improve it might catch up to them. They're missing top PK player in Grabner but, that's definitely not the only problem with the PK. I don't think they have the confidence while on the PK and it shows because they just sit back....not aggressive enough. The point i was making is overall Cappy has done a good job coaching this year and deserves some praise. He has made adjustment through out the season, he deserves some credit No coach is perfect and maybe it is his fault the PK sucks. I have no doubt it will improve as the season moves along.

I think Habs are highly overrated. Johnson starting actually makes this a closer game.

Montreal is only as good as Price is. Habs Typically have grossly outshot and they are very opportunistic on counter. They will probably hope to capitalize on PP.

Keys to Winning - Stay out of the box and limit the number of shots on Johnson.
