He'd be the best player on the defense, and I think a Streit-Byfuglien pairing might be kinda amazing - AllInForFlyers
i think that would be very fun to watch, for all parties involved. |

He was very good, until the third. Made a mistake on the first goal, but atoned for it.
He's a big skilled guy with a nasty side. His warts exist, but aren't fatal. - Jsaquella
Big Buf would be a great partner for Coburn. I think it would improve both of their games.

You can say the same thing about Coburn, unfortunately - AllInForFlyers
I don't think Coburn has much offensive ability. He could certainly be giving the team more though |

Ha! More fun than watching MacDonald-Schenn and Schultz-Coburn, that's for sure
My thing is this: The Flyers have drafted defensemen, so they don't have to do anything. They can let it play out, and time will tell.
But there's still the nagging fact that all prospects are suspects until they actually make it. There's no guarantee, as much as I wish there was, that they will.
At some point, whether it's through the development of the drafted players or some kind of trade, the Flyers need to inject pure talent into that back end. Not players with slow feet and poor puck skills, or lack of physicality.
Sometimes, you need pure talent. And it doesn't have to Byfuglien. Could be Morin, could be Sanheim, could be Ghost, could be Hagg. All different kinds of players, all talented.
But the Flyers go nowhere until at least two of those guys are inserted into the lineup and perform |

Not related: Joe Cocker died today- lung cancer. He was 70.
His cover of With A Little Help From My Friends is my favorite cover of a Beatles song, and that's huge praise from me. Normally, any cover (I'm looking at you Steven Tyler) is considered sacrilege. |
