Only person to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 3 times is??? - PLindbergh31
Clapton
EDIT: I don't know who for though. That's my guess because he's one of the greatest guitar players of all time and played for like 11 bands. |

Wasn't sure of the Yardbirds, either. I knew it was them or Derek & The Dominos.

so if led zeppelin stole a whole bunch of their songs (they did), do the original artists get a percentage share of their place in the rock and roll hall of fame? |

Don't forget John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. What a career Clapton has had. How has he not been Knighted? I think Clapton might find that to be a bit pretentious anyway. |

I promise you that if he trade one of Schenn, Coots, or Laughton for Yandle, it will be deeply regretted in 3 years when Yandle gets pushed out of a top 3 roster spot by our young dmen while one of those 3 young forwards becomes a solidified top liner. - JAKEw1234
Does 'top liner' mean top three? It seems as though our top line already has two thirds and they don't seem to care who is playing alongside them as long as they keep up. (Granted, when Raffl returned which allowed Schenn to slide down to line 2 I think we became a little more balanced).
I understand that Hextall doesn't want to mortgage the future, but I just don't see a huge deal giving up some offense 'potential' for as close to a top level d as you're gonna find.
The way I see it, in three years Simmonds and two of those guys should still be around.
What is a mid-30s Yandle became the HUGE Cog that Kimmo was?
All this talk about Buff....I rather see Yandle here is all. |

Me? I'm a product of Rakim
Lakim Shabazz, 2Pac, N-W-A., Cube, Doc, Ren
Yella, Eazy, thank you, they got Slim inspired enough to one day grow up
And blow up to be in a position to meet Run-D.M.C. and induct them
Into the mother(frank)in' Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame even though I walk into church
And burst in a ball of flames
Only Hall of Fame I'll be inducted in is the alcohol of fame on the wall of shame |

It's like Del Paxton said in That Thing You Do! Some bands, two months together is too long. |

Then why was Vinny sitting for so many games, while Umberger was still playing? Vinny has been around longer than RJ, and has a cup under his belt. So why was Vinny the first one to be sat down? Or, instead of Umberger, VdV? Or Coots when he was in his funk? According to that logic, Vinny should have had more leeway than any of those guys who still kept playing..
Again.. I stand by my opinion that Berube is inconsistent.. or bias.. whichever you want to call it. - WarriorHockey21
Look at the timeline back to last year, and how long of a leash Berube and the team has given Lecavalier until he became a healthy scratch. Last season coming off the injury, they played him at Center, then tried him at LW, then demoted him to the 4th line. They told him they needed him to come to camp in great shape, and they again, gave him his spot back at Center. It wasn't until the end of November and almost two months into the season. That's a considerable amount of time that Berube gave to Lecavalier to get back to where he needed to be.
When dealing with an NHL team, and managing a roster and player decisions, it's not going to be consistent. Other factors come into play also. This team has a lot of center depth, especially with the addition of Laughton. There is competition for playing time there. Same thing with defense, they 7 NHL defenseman competing for playing time.
With Umberger, a big factor is that there really isn't anyone that they feel is better that can take his place. Bellemare was an option, but they wanted to keep him at center on the 4th line. Umberger is going to be given a long leash to play his way out of it. |

And he had a terrible bout with substance abuse, and the death of his young son. Things could have went south for him 25 years ago. |
