I loved the Regehr trade but I remember saying he wasn't the same guy he was when we all wanted him here years prior. I also believe he never truly wanted to be here. His hand was forced as he knew Calgary wanted nothing to do with him. Much like Gorges.

my first real let down for "playoffs" as a young bills fan ..

You make it sound like we have an abundance of them. We really don't. Meszaros and Benoit are not going to be here next year. Weber should be shown the door as well. Strachan can be used as a depth guy again if they chose to resign him.

That leaves:

Myers, Gorges, Risto, Zadorov, Pysyk, McCabe and Ruhwedel. If they don't move Weber, they can send McCabe back to Rochester without risk of losing him. Beyond those guys, there's nothing even close to being ready for NHL action for depth purposes. Trading one is not a good idea IMO.

I think we have enough. plus we could sign a guy like boydchuk or leddy in the offseason or we could even grab a 3rd tier dman to add depth in offseason. I think it would be foolish to draft 2 dmen and a goalie in this upcoming draft. I am completely against drafting a goalie in the first round at all.

If they draft 3rd or 4th they should be taking a defensemen. I wouldn't take a goalie in the 1st round either, I'd think about it with the 2nd rounder though .
