When it comes to lack of intensity, I don't think the Flyers suffer from that. However, I do think that they become easily frustrated against tight checking teams like Tampa and the Rags. When you couple that frustration with a lack of forwards with the skill, speed and possession ability to beat that type of system, you will end up with a lot of losses.

Agreed. They need Read to be a consistent player. The lack of secondary scoring is almost as big an issue as the defense. - PLindbergh31
That's true, but I'd prefer to fix the defense and win 3-1 or 4-2 as opposed to 15-13. |

Agreed.
If possible, I'd always make sure the D was tightened up first and foremost. |

True. If Giroux and Voracek weren't superhuman so far this year, the Flyers would be smack dab in the middle of the McDavid sweepstakes. |

I think frustration is part of it, and that leads to doubts, which all contribute to a lack of intensity on the ice. The Flyers absolutely suffer from wavering intensity from game to game. When they come out and skate, and play a team game in all 3 zones, they are a good team. When they don't match the intensity and work ethic of the opposition, they aren't a good team. |

They suck at keeping their 2nd rounders. I thought it was bad, but it's actually ridiculous - seven 2nd round picks in the last 16 drafts.
1999 no 2nd round pick
2000 no 2nd round pick
2001 no 2nd round pick
2002 no 2nd round pick
2003 no 2nd round pick
2004 no 2nd round pick
2005 no 2nd round pick
2006 Nodl, Ratchuk, Bodrov
2007 Marshall
2008 no 2nd round pick
2009 no 2nd round pick
2010 no 2nd round pick
2011 no 2nd round pick
2012 Stolarz
2013 Hagg

Anyone want to put the work in to list what players were actually selected with those picks we didn't have? Would be interesting to see.

It's kind of an exercise in futility. We don't know who the Flyers would have selected if they did make the picks. |

Hence why i asked if anyone else was willing to put in the work. My curiosity was just high enough to want to see the results but not actually look it up...
