You should try this new service called Twitter.

RT @frank_seravalli: Ron Hextall said the hope is Steve Mason can skate in Nashville. He'll be with team when trip resumes. Rules out for that game though.

RT @frank_seravalli: Hextall said there's no finite answer for when Mason returns, but doesn't believe it to be "that serious." He's undergone battery of tests.

Ok so I'm right so far....

Next up:

-Mase travels with team for a week, practices
-Hextall reassures us he'll be playing in a real life game very soon, reiterates Mase's condition is "not serious"
-The week has come and gone, plus 2 games, and Mase is still scratched
-Mase takes a "maintenance day"; Hextall tells reporters he's fine and is still day to day
-4 days after that, it is announced Mase is out for 2 months with back spasms

This will all wrap up 2 weeks from now (taking into account Christmas break)

so you think that is bad?

The Flyers traded a first round pick to the Washington Capitals in return for Steve "God" Eminger.

They drafted John Carlson with that pick.

33 games
4 goals
20 assists
24 points
+12

RIGHT HANDED SHOT

- jak521

yeah that one hurts too but didn't they at least use Emminger to get Carle (granted it also cost them Downie). at least they got something that helped them for a bit.

guess the moral is all teams make good picks and bad ones, and make good trades and bad ones. there aren't too many guys ub Giroux's draft you would take over him now.

It is hindsight. Fans of every fan base can look back at drafts and say WTF were they thinking. Still hurts though.

Absolutely, the Rangers could have had Giroux instead of Sanguinetti and a ton of people over Jessiman in 2003 and Cory Schneider over Montoya in 2004. you can do this exercise for every team really. it does still hurt like you said tho esp considering they haven't had many hits beyond round one

Speaking of the Rangers, in 2007 they could have taken Max Pacioretty instead of Alexei Cherepanov.

Yes, but Cherpanov had some serious talent. He wasnt a bust. Sad what happened to that kid. Had some serious potential.

I would never call the player a bust, tragically he never got a chance to play.
