Islanders/Oilers trade makes sense (team needs and immediate prospect of success, e/w divide, garth snow's willingness to take a risk)

gotta think MacT is asking about Reinhart...and/or dal colle...garth prob wants Ebs involved. which is fair....I think a fair trade, that would help both team (albeit NYI more immediately), is:

To NYI Eberle/Yakubust/2015 2nd
To EDM Reinhart/Dal Colle

p.s. This would also: a) make MacT look bold and placate local media, b) buy him and his old boys more time for "the plan" to unfurl....errrr or is it explode?

I actually like this idea.... the Gms would have to do some tinkering/balancing, but the concept of trading Eberle/Yak for some D and a younger and possibly higher potential forward... the D would ideally someone who could help them immediately tho

Sorry, but if I'm trading Dal Colle AND Reinhart, I'm getting Hall back in that trade. Snow's willingness to take risks usually involves either drafting players who everyone else is shying away from, or trading first round draft picks for immediate help. He's still crying over having had to trade Pokka for Leddy- he doesn't easily part with prospects, so I think you're taking that the wrong way. I'd trade you a second tier defensive prospect like Mayfield or Donovan straight up for Yakupov- that's about it, and I'd likely be stupid for doing that, in the long run. If I'm trading ANY of my top end prospects, it's going to be for someone who is going to actually help right now, and the only two things I really need right now are a better backup goaltender (which doesn't warrant a top tier prospect), and a left wing for Tavares (which might, depending on who it is).

I don't know much of Dal Colle...but he has not played in the NHL yet, big kid good potential. Reinhart, again good potential but has not played much and was just sent down to the AHL.

So 2 kids with potential for a proven LW that is Top 3, Top 5, in the league?

If the Oil do that then the rebuild of the rebuild is on and they better be getting NYI's 1st round in 2015 also.
