Please everyone, stop mentioning the words "Stamkos" and "trade" on the same web page - Toronto fans can smell it from 1000 miles away and they will descend upon us in droves. It's probably too late. There are probably 20 Ontario bloggers typing madly away as we speak, about to publish speculative pieces about the hometown boy reunion.

Great read on the blog Mike.

I would like to add the following (which generally are in agreement with what you already said) :

JT Brown does have awful luck the likes of which I have rarely seen. You know who he reminds me of? (Clue : dinosaur flashback time) - He reminds me of Mikael Andersson. Remember that guy? Speedy. Not a big guy. Overall a solid player, but just never put up any good offensive numbers and had rotten luck (or an inaccurate shot, take your pick).

Matt Carle - hot and cold. love and hate. One moment he makes a sweet pass that results in a scoring chance. The next moment he makes a terrible turnover and costs us a scoring chance. This guy is a roller coaster with puke-covered seats.

I still like Gudas - he just needs to be paired with Stralman.

Like everyone already said and knows - give us 5 more Stralmans please.

Stamkos - time for him to get hot again and let's stop this talk about him being off his game. Sure, he is in a bit of a goal-scoring drought (by his elevated standards), but teams must put their best defense on him and that opens up the Palat-Johnson-Kucherov line. As long as Stammer is drawing aggro from the other team's tanks, then everyone else can run amok.

Callahan is one who needs to put up some goals again. He is on a dry streak even by his modest standards. He does everything else right, but a few biscuits in the basket would be nice.

Bishop and Vasi tandem. It's coming. Get ready. Other teams be afraid, be very afraid.

Hedman - is it just me or has he been strugging with the puck a bit lately and making goofy passes and Carle-like mistakes?

Morrow - not our best player, but earns some props from me because he is not afraid to drop the gloves with anyone, even if they are bigger and almost half his age. We need a guy like him. A pity he is so slow and his scoring touch is gone.

Paquette needs to score a few more.

Connolly needs to continue improving at the pace he has been lately - if he continues, he will be a much-needed scoring wing.

I hope we get Jagr. Laugh all you want, but he would be a cheap rental and it would be awesome to have this guy play in a Bolts uniform for a season or two before he retires. He's a freakin legend and we could use him for a cup run. In fact, jettison Morrow and get Jagr.
