I would bet that Girgensons probably does as well. He has more goals this year than Yak has points. Also only had 2 less points last season. Not bad for a guy that a lot of people around here liked to say was at best a 3rd line center.

I'm not sure if his contract sliding one year due to his time in Rochester is gonna be a good thing or bad thing. Being that he has 1 more year to go after this one because of that, his next deal could end up a nice chunk of change for him.

Different defense. The run D has been much better with Schwartz as the D coordinator. I realize that with Dareus out it'll be harder for the D overall, but I still think you can't compare the two.

It depends. He could be in a slightly more reduced role next year depending on where they draft and on what happens with Reinhart. It could be beneficial to negotiate something based off of his season playing on the 1st line.

He has to want to sign somewhere else though, and with Nolan here, I don't think he'll be interested right now. He's in a really good situation here. I don't see him jumping ship. He's a completely different type of guy than Vanek was.

An offer sheet has to be accepted by the player. Teams can call his agent and try to get him to sign, but if he says no, it's a moot point.
