Weve had injuries all season to our top defensemen and our top 6 fwds. What injury would prevent us from making the playoffs?
- Cptmjl

Halak. Or even a defender long term.

Sabres are starting to see how much they are missing Myers and it's only 3 games without him.

Even if they went .500 hockey the rest of the way, they are making the playoffs. Would give them 90-something points. With the way the East is this year... thats a shoe-in. They'll be making the playoffs. But I also share the sentiment that they wont win more than 1 round in the playoffs. Nothing against them or anything, just dont see them getting through a team whos been there before in the Atlantic (PIT, NYR, TB, perhaps WSH).

Same thing goes for STL. They would have to go through CHI, dont think they make it. We'll be looking at 2 picks in the 15-26 range. Likely 1 in the 18-22, and one in the 24-26 range.

we'll see... they're in a good spot...we'll how things unfold prior to the all-star break

That says a lot about how thin your defense is considering how garbage myers is.

No different if you lost Lundqvist to injury.

Like I just stated. It'd be no different than if the Rangers lost Lundqvist. Any team loses their number one goaltender its going to have a detrimental effect not just the islanders. You could rope top defender in the same category.

Whether you think he's really good or just decent, you can't have two 19 year olds be your best two defensemen

At times. You arent fooling me and probably not anyone else if Lundqvist were to get injured you guys would at best be a bubble team.

Retroactive to Dec 20th. He's on the ice for the morning skate with the team. This is likely minor and also a good opportunity to see if Poulin can out play Johnson who's play has been the major reason our team goals against looks bad.

If you want Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel, you absolutely can.

Remember back in 2008 when Weber and Sekera were called up and paired together, and we all thought the Sabres had their studs on the blueline for the next decade?

True. Still a shame that JT will never be the same after that Olympic injury.

. You've been trolling around a lot lately. Amazing what an easy schedule and a winning streak can do isnt it?

You think we know? They called his injury a "maintenance day".

By the way, was anyone not incredibly impressed with Reinhart last night? This kid is going to be very good.

It was no secret that he's too good for the junior level, so I am not surprised. I saw his assist on the first goal, but had to go out after that.

Playing non playoff teams will do that for a team.

A few of those kids are too good for junior.

Domi is one of them. Petan is another (although I am not sure his game will ever translate)
