I don't think so, could resurrect the franchise like Crosby did for Pitt. I clearly think Bettman would help them, just a hunch....

McDavid in a hockey market (sans Edmonton of course lol) would be better for the NHL than him rotting away in the desert with no owner and no future.

I think it'll be a nightmare for the league if Arizona wins the lottery and gets McDavid.

Step two would have to be moving them to Quebec.

If the playoffs started today, the Isles and Rangers would play each other. And if both teams keep pace throughout the rest of the season, we will play each other. So you guys ain't winning one round.
- rangerdanger94

Look who is mister confident. The Isles are not the Philly team from last year with D like Streit and Amac.

Its a lot harder going from wing --> center than going from center --> wing.

i prefer wingers that have some kind of physical advantage over opposing defenseman. Grigorenkos doesn't skate well enough to be a winger. I think his best attribute is reading a play.

Just saying, Pitt was in a similar situation.... 1 of the 2 elite kids could cause hockey attraction to the desert. Ownership will be figured out, always does....

Just think, teams in a dying market somehow able to draft or obtain an elite type of player immediately draws hockey attention, winning draws more...

It's just funny because I do not see many Isles fans talking Cup or beating the Rangers in the playoffs. This is not a Cup or bust season for the Isles. I'm just enjoying the season so far.

He should just stay. Same with Armia after they trade one of 80 or 21

I'd put my money on the Islanders if I were indeed a betting man.

He's 6'3 and can add on more weight than he already has to get stronger. Jagr and Hossa are 2 wingers who dont have dynamic skating or speed and make a living as big high skilled wingers.... Grigorenko would do fine as a winger.

Grigorenko is slowly beginning to turn the corner.
He will eventually be a solid 2nd liner if not 1st line talent on this team for many years to come.
I'm a fan.

Only problem is that Hossa and Jagr have phenomenal lower body strength and both are almost impossible to get off of the puck.

While I get your point, I think it would be a rough transition for Grigo

It's scary to think what kind of numbers Mike Bossy would have put up if not for a bad back and retiring after only 10 seasons

57 goals per season, 55 assists per season

IMO the best winger ever to play the game

Hossa was nothing special til about the time he was about to turn 22

gringo could make that transition, although I do not think Nolan is the type of coach to get lofty offensive production from gringo

They didnt have the strength they had in their prime back in their early 20's. It takes years to add that. You just got to have the work ethic. Why do you think Jagr can still play at 70 years old? The (frank)ing guy rents out an ice rink after the game, puts weights on his ankles and skates around shooting the puck for 2 hours!
