The (frank)ing guy rents out an ice rink after the game, puts weights on his ankles and skates around shooting the puck for 2 hours!

Yea he's really stepped up his game, but imo he shouldn't have fallen as far as he did in the draft. Looks like the questions about his skating ability will be put to rest at this tournament.

Id be willing to give Yakupov a shot but at this point hes not worth reinhart alone. I dont think Mactavish will trade him for that reason. Oiler fans are going to be dissappointed in the return for any of these kids if they do get traded.

I'm really intrigued with Mikko Rantanen, the big Fin, come draft time. He's 6'3-6'4, over 200 lbs, and has above average skating and hands from what I saw against the U.S. yesterday. He's got a good power forward build, but with noticeable skill. Wouldn't mind us picking him up with one of our later 1sts. I'm a fan.

The Vanek trade didnt work out which in the end worked out for us minus the loss of the pick. Dont forget vanek on the first line was one of the best lines in the nhl for a large part of last season. It worked out for us bcs he didnt sign with us though . That contract would have crippled us and the way he looks now

I didnt forget the Nino trade but lets not forget that Nino and his agent went public and destroyed his value. What do you think youre going to get for a prospect that scored one nhl goal in an entire season on top of the drama and saying he wants out? Boychuck will get market value which is high for top four defensemen what would make you think he will be grossly over paid as compared to any other team trying to resign a player?

I'm thinking around 20-15, and hoping that the Isles or Blues fall apart a bit. I'm banking on Rantanen's relatively meek stats so far in the SM liiga resulting in him dropping a tad, because I think he has some real potential.

Halak on IR does that mean the Islanders will start falling ?
