For Tyler Seguin, this is probably a much closer scenario, even though Dallas got lucky and absolutely pantsed Boston a-la Darcy. Dalls gets Seguin, a top line franchise center for what really is Reilly Smith (Armia or Baptiste) and Matt Fraser (a lesser Foligno). I can't fathom the Sabres giving up so little to get so much, and even if we added to that like a first, we're robbing Boston blind. How the hell did Darcy not get this trade. Let's all take a moment and hate him for it. While you're riding the hate train, try to think about Forsberg for Erat. - TheSabresTaco
No way in hell Boston trades him in-division for that amount. And I also hate bashing a GM for "missing" a trade - are they supposed to be mind readers and know other GMs are potentially shopping players to other teams that aren't their own? |

the bills last 3 first rd picks were EJ and watkins
rumor now is the bills have not contacted spillers agent so he will be walking
they really need to find a way to get a first rd pick this offseason - homiedclown
Fine, use the money to sign Hughes and Dareus. |

If Orton told the Bills that he was planning to retire before this morning and EJ didn't play I will officially lose my mind |

Incorrect. Completely incorrect. He said in Whaley's entry presser Brandon confirmed he has final say on Whaley's decisions. |

So the guys out there aren't good enough for Edmonton, but they're supposed to be good enough to play here?
I don't see the point of making that move then. The D that's available isn't anywhere close to what we could get out of Myers, so why would they want to make that sacrifice? Don't get me wrong, I like Hall. I just think it's harder to come by a guy like Myers than it is a guy like Hall. Especially given that Hall has been on a bad team since he got there with 2 other 1st overall picks. If he can't get the job done there with what he's been given to work with, why would he be any better here?
And I know you're not a huge fan of trading Myers in the first place. Which is why I'm bit baffled by your opinion on this right now. - HonkFortheGoose
The D men that are out there next year isn't what the Oilers are looking for, they want a young 1st pairing D man like Myers or Yandle. I know replacing Myers will be hard to do but, they want a scoring winger that's young and Hall fits that order. Maybe they feel getting a " HALL" type player is more important.
It still remains to be seen if Hall is even on the block and if they Sabres would really make a big offer for him. |

Financially is all.
"Doug Whaley and Doug Marrone are empowered to run the football operation. They run it. When they sit at their presser tomorrow and talk about the 2014 season, they will do it, because they run that operation.
If they do a 2014 recap or something along those lines, those two gentlemen will do it because that's what they do. They run the football operation and I work hand in hand with Terry on the administration and business operations." |

Now that Marrone's boy in essence walked away from the game, you have to get rid of Marrone or trade EJ IMO |

I did, and I still hold my position. He does not make roster decisions unless they're financially nonviable. |

Kyle Orton has informed the Bills he's retiring.
Orton is reportedly serious this time, just a few short months after angling his way out of Dallas only to sign an $11M contract with the Bills. The 32-year-old started hot but faded in Buffalo, finishing 287-of-447 (64.2 percent) for 3,018 yards with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. "I just have been going at it for 10 years and it's just a family decision and I've decided to get home and be a dad and call it a day," said Orton. So now the Bills are left with E.J. Manuel and Jeff Tuel as the only quarterbacks on their roster. They have no first-round draft pick as a result of the Sammy Watkins trade.

Agree. What a strange twist of fate. Marrone backs this guy to the end and he hangs it up a day later.
Besides his drinking does anyone know anything else about Orton's habits? He just made 5 mil this year. I wonder if he's into gambling or anything like that. |
