What trade was nixed?

Gotta think Hodgson is at the top of the list followed by Pysyk and maybe Flynn.

If they don't move Hodgson, my guess is they'll buy him out over the summer.

- mhp

I can't think it was Hodgson if "not enough was involved". I would think it would be a younger guy like Grigorenko.

The buyouts are over . He can be but we are stuck with a cap hit twice the length of his years left.

I think.

Great disappointment in CoHo for sure. Don't expect him to stay for the full rebuild I would guess.

2 prospects not impressing, Armia and Grigs. Sporadic play with intensity is what I've been told. Not impressed with them 2.

There are a couple of other names mentioned, but those 3 are top of the list to my knowledge.

Time will bare things out, following this season, moves won't end at the draft, expect further movement to expedite the rebuild. There is some expectations being set for next season, the primary one is a playoff birth, so expect moves to gravitate towards that end.

Flynn is playing just fine. I still don't understand what this guy needs to do to get the respect he deserves around here.

Not only is he playing fine, but he's not the type of player that's going to warrant a huge return in a trade anyway. Keeping him around is pretty much a no-brainer.

"Yeah, I've never heard of that," Hughes said, laughing. "I guess that's a nice little deal, kind of throw that out there. But I've never heard of a hometown discount in the business world."

I'm not shocked... It's been the knock on them since the beginning.

He's the type of guy that shouldn't take a hometown discount. He benefited from the rest of the line and he knows it. Cash in on that while you can.

sounds like Murray really hates Darcy's work here. Draft Armia and Grigs, pay Hodge 4.25. Maybe he's ready to chop up Darcy's moves.

I would not bring him back, they can find another young player and plug him in

Darius on the other hand, needs to be brought back

They both still looked like kids in their call ups. Grigorenko has no shoulders and strength. Armia has not enough speed and strength.

Going to have to include big pieces if you want someone to take Hodgson, Gringo is going to be a nothing player in the NHL, I have no problem moving Armia. Neither are Nolan type players.

In the least surprising news of the day, Harbaugh to Michigan happened.
