If it were conditioning he'd need not be placed on waivers. - dadeadhead
IMO he will need more than the std conditioning leave of absence. |

I have to admit im surprised The oilers didn't claim Roy, Theyve been looking for help up the middle and for 1 mill its hardly a risk - yen6d1
He might improve a line and thus cause wins...no way. |

So we take their word on EJ, but are questioning other decisions they have made?
They have made this difficult on themselves. - sbroads24
If EJ were a better option than Orton, he'd have been starting.
Case closed. |

putting hacket on waivers makes no sense, the team can keep 3 goalies on the roster with an extra d man and skater up front
they can shuffle kids back and forth to rochester w/o waiver issues
the only reason to put hacket on waivers is if both our goalies are already extended which neither are
WTF - homiedclown

Oilers did claim Fraser, apparently, and put someone on waivers themselves today to make room |

"Conditioning" stint. - TheSabresTaco
They could have sent him there on a conditioning stint without having to clear waivers though. The only difference is that he would only be there for a limited time.
They probably figure nobody is going to claim him coming off of knee reconstruction surgery so didn't bother. This way they're not limited to how long they can keep him there. |

A guy that is a cancer in the clubhouse that is a shadow of his former self after his last injury? No thanks. There is a reason that you see guys like Roy, Heatly, Tootoo, etc floating from team to team.

Karabachuk, Larsson and Zadorov for Pommer. How do we feel about that. - TheSabresTaco
I believe in the end the only player that will end up here full time is Zadorov. Larsson has shown very little at the NHL level and will eventually be forgotten when new talent comes in. Karabecek is a total question mark. In the end it will be Zadorov for Pommer and its too early to tell if that was the right move. |

Can't forget the fact that moving Pommer helped our draft position last year and this year as well. No Pommer helped us get in the position to draft Risto |

I would too, if worse comes to worse you just cut him. If not maybe he realizes his potential and you get a decent player |

Larsson is a late second round pick proving his worth to the organization. He's progressing every year. He's a very useful top 9 forward. I wouldn't throw the towel in on him yet. |

What has he proved? He has played 36 games with the sabres so far and has 1 goal and 5 assists. He needs to start showing more at the NHL level to be considered a part of the future |

By "right move" do you mean that maybe we didn't get enough for him? It was cleary time to break up the team and start over so that part of the equation really can't be questioned. It is tough to know what we were offered. We didn't get any of Minny's top prospects so that kind of hurt. I have a feeling that this may end up being a win for us in the long run even if it is only Zads.
