Orton never totally embraced the job. He didnt embrace the Buffalo fans. Wasnt trying to make friends in the locker room. I suspect he returns late next summer in the NFL. He did this to make a quick 5 mil and then avoid offseason workouts. He at least had enough integrity to try hard during the season. That's about where his commitment ended.

I read somewhere that hackett needs 8 more nhl games where he plays 30 minutes or he becomes a UFA at seasons end. Theres no way he was gonna get that. Maybe that figured into the waiver decision.
