Lol Edmonton just traded for Roy!
- gibby111

Oh brother.

The NHL should heavily fine the Oilers for this move.

Canadians show zero emotion when any other country plays. Russia, Canada's true hockey rival, not a peep. Canadians hate America. I have little patience for people who hate America.
- Buffalo-Sabres

They're not though. Canada's true hockey rival was the soviet union, back when the two teams were incredibly close in terms of talent and success at both the junior and NHL level. (They were also the "big bad communists" so im sure that fuelled fans at the time) But these days the disparity is huge, ever since the shellacking we gave them in 2010, it's really died down.

And again, this is a terrible conclusion to draw. They don't actually hate americans, all the stuff you see right now in this tournament usually stays in the tournament. Are their a select few who take it too far? Of course, but that goes both ways. I'm right up there with the booing, but i keep it in sports and ONLY in sports. Never bring anything else into it.

Despite everything i say on here (all in good fun) I too haven't met an american i didn't like. None if it is personal, just sporting rivalry and it has zero bearing on my impression of those from across the border.
- Sabresfan-365

100% agree
sometimes you do just come across people who take things way to seriously. One of my closest friends is like that with the Bills its like relax its a game and outcome has no bearing on your life.

Havent seen too many big problems at Sabres games since the first few years of the arena.
Bills fans however are probley top 5 worst fans towards other teams.

World Jrs is tough for me to like or dislike a country. How many countries do we have a prospect on ? 3-4 so why would i boo those teams. Not to mention the prospects you like or want to have

Had something to do with the amount of contracts they have signed
They didn't wanna add another without subtracting one

It's on TSN as well. Here's to hoping Roy can go back to being a 50 point player and lead the oilers out of last

My guess is because he can stay in the minors now since he cleared? It would be pretty silly if they called him up immediately though.

Hmm, looks like it put them at 49 though, he could have been #50 instead. Not that I imagine they sent off anyone worth much, but still....

Hackett placed on waivers
He must be healthy. We have to clear him so he can go to Rochester

Right, but they prob didn't see arcobello as part of their future, so better to keep an open slot as opposed to keeping him around
His low salary made him attractive to nashville
